Joyce Roast chicken, roast parsnips, carrots and potatoes with Brussels sprouts and cider gravy ... I'll do most of it in the domed enamel roaster so it won't need much looking after and I can get on with other stuff.

That all sounds very tasty Dove. We'll be having slow roast belly pork with crunchy crackling, roast parsnips and other veg. Our farmer neighbours have left a huge bag of sprouts for OH, knowing he loves 'em and I loathe 'em.
I do hope your OH isn't too despondent or cross about the shop for long and that he finds another position to suit his needs. So frustrating for suppliers, customers and staff alike.
Strange concert last night - in aid of a charity helping kids in a Nepal village devastated by earthquakes. She is from La Roche and met her cellist hubby when they were both a ta masters' class in Germany. I didn't recognise a single piece of the music and every single one was in a minor key so felt plaintive but the piano was glorious and the cello had lovely rich tones and the restored old barn we were in had a fabulous wooden beamed roof structure and amazing acoustics. Dinner back in La Roche was good too.
This morning I've persuaded OH to dig another hole so I can plant the golden rain tree at last, then sewing for me.
I do hope all of you suffering with coughs and other lurgies get better soon. At least in January it's OK to stay tucked up arm and safe as there's not a lot can be done outside. Positive thoughts!
Enjoy your day everyone.

It’s crazy Dove. I’m quite cold today.
Hello Joyce
OH found Covonia for dry coughs very helpful when he had one of those coughs that started whenever he went to bed and stopped us sleeping.

Dove, if I leave now I'll be just in time for dinner
You're very welcome Joyce ... can you be here for six- ish?
If we've got enough stale bread for crumbs I'll make some parsley and lemon stuffing too ...

I could bring bread sauce and homemade quince jelly - if there's room around the table
Must be about 3 weeks since Christmas if I'm thinking I could fancy roast chuck again
