Would you believe that we’ve got cold weather today! Amazing. There is even a bit of snow on the Victorian highlands, and as the wind is coming from that direction, it’s cold outside here.
Joyce, I’m sure you won’t be thrilled to hear that the newest cyclone in northern WA has been named “Joyce”. Such bad taste!
Im back into track suit pants instead of shorts. Very confusing.
Managed a couple of hours sleep sitting bolt upright any chance of drifting back gone by coughing and coughing again. Busy it’s my turn this year, I remember much chat about sore ribs and how everyone suffered
even the dogs wont come near me,

Hello Lilyp. Sorry you’re still suffering. Have you tried sucking cough lollies? I find they work because they’re in you mouth for a fair while and seem to help us. We use Nestle soothers. Don’t know if they’re available where you are.
Yes Pat think I have tried everything. Problem is everything is very sugary and I feel stuffed with sweet sickly gooey things. there used to be one called magazones. A brilliant wee pastille that could stop a horse cough. Haven’t seen it for years.
sorry to hear you are chilly, a really mixed bag of weather you are getting this year.

Haven’t been on this thread for a while but I do look in every so often to keep abreast of your goings-on.
Dove - so sorry to hear the news about the farm shop. I’d only been a couple of times (don’t come up to Norwich that often) but on both occasions I was impressed with the both staff and stock. Hope OH finds something else soon - anything doing at Notcutts? He knows a thing or two about gardening after tending the garden while you were laid up last year
P’Doc - I was sorry to hear you’ve been so poorly. Hope you are up to some light pottering when the weather turns. Your little trips will give you something to look forward too.
Lily P - I had the coughing lurgy in 2015. It was dreadful - hardly slept for weeks and finished up with very irritated airways which really prolonged the whole affair. Potters cattarrh (sp?) lozenges helped a bit as did steam inhalations and hot drinks (steam again). The most successful & soothing thing were small ice lollies. Ended up making lots of small ones of my own - large ice cube size made with diluted fruit juice.
BL - pleased to hear you’re back in Norfolk - enjoy your stay
Keep well everyone else!
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
We love Cromer, with all its down at heel Edwardian pretensions rubbing shoulders with the fishermen's cottages and ice cream parlours. The butcher, Icarus Hines, is very good. Best fish & chips are to be had at No. 1 with its view over the head of the pier ... it's owned by Garston Blakiston the award winning chef at Morston Hall. Best beach for walking, playing cricket and winkling (as well as surfing) is just up the road at East Runton.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
LP - not much comfort to you but I think most brands of cough sweets/throat pastilles and cough linctus were tested when the lurgy hit last time but the cough took it's own time to go away.
Maybe try extra pillows so that you are propped up a bit in bed.
Pat - not keen on the cyclone having my name Hope it doesn't cause much damage.
Like the present for your friend on Crafter's thread.
Darwin friend has gone down to her son's in Melbourne for the first week of the Open tennis. She hates the drop in temperature.
Busy - hope you get dry weather for your Norfolk stay and maybe get a bit of time doing some gardening.

Hi Dove and Joyce. I think WA is getting lots of rain and I think it’s no longer a cyclone.
glad you like my colouring.
Thanks.
I dont think your friend will be cold for long. The hot weather is returning, we’re told.
