    Right. I'm home at last.

Got to work this morning to find I only had 3 deliveries on my route. Hubby had driven me in and was in store so I asked if he'd mind if  I offered to stay later than 2 ( on rota ) I foolishly stayed until 4 and it was bedlam. 99% of folk were fine with the queues etc so it wasn't too bad.

In at 8 again in the morning.

Evening all.  Home form Nantes where we had a long drawn out lunch cos chappy forgot to tell the kitchen we'd ordered starters.   Meant we had time for a long relaxing chat before heading off to the Xmas market which turns out to be good fun.   Several brave and hardy ladies standing around with boards offering free hugs to anyone who wanted or needed one.

We found a cinema showing original language version of the new Star Wars and Murder on the Orient Express so OH and I said we'd go and see Star Wars after dropping Possum back at the airport next Saturday cos she's already seen it.  She started bouncing up and down about Murder on the Orient Express and how many famous actors there are in it and couldn't we stay and see that right now.  How to explain to a 22 yr old that we'd seen the 1974 version with Ingrid Bergman, Lauren Bacall, Albert Finney, Sean Connery and such like and read the book and knew whodunnit so Kenneth Branagh and crew would not rock our boat?

Home to very giddy doggies and playful kitties and now for a peaceful evening with TV and cuddles.

We like Xmas but not all the hoo-ha and whilst we eat well we don't go mad and have endless leftovers to recycle.   For me it's more about being together and hunkering down for the longest nights.  By the time it's over the days are already feeling longer.   Not sure what I shall do with myself tomorrow - no shopping, no cleaning, no sewing or crafting..........

I hope everyone's had a good day and got everything done and ready for the feasting.  Did you survive London Chicky?

Good evening all!  Bedrooms prepared, final preparations made - presents not wrapped yet, as that's a Christmas Eve job by tradition.  We do it accompanied by Carols from Kings, in the afternoon.

Thanks for the sea bass info, Lizzie.  I know it's a tradition to eat fish at Christmas in some countries.  We had salmon today, and will be having a small pork joint on Christmas day, sharing the goose with the family on 28th.

Could do with some good telly for tonight...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

I've just looked and there's not one single programme on which either of us want to watch. ( except Dad's Army ) so a night of catch up for us.

Agree Hosta - poor for any Saturday, let alone a Christmas Eve Eve one!

A few goodies on iPlayer though - they've put some 'box sets' on.

Aunty Rach, I think they expect everyone has got something better to do, or are all going out . Most Saturday nights are plap on telly, but as you so correctly say, for the weekend before christmas, it's rubbish.

We recorded  Woman in Black last weekend with the lovely Daniel Radcliffe in it. Might watch that.

Can I just add , Waitrose are closed 25th and 26th unlike other, greedier, inferior retailers.image

There wasn't anything we wanted to watch either, except Dad's Army. Watched an old Midsomer Murders that we hadn't seen before, recorded.

I don't feel at all prepared for Christmas, haven't even wrapped OH's presents and I think I've lost one, it's in a safe place somewhere.

Been looking for a hotel by Lake Maggiore for October, hope to drive their with friends.
