Happy Birthday Dove Jr - perhaps 'Many Happy Returns' would cover it for this year.

I've been cleaning pictures and putting them back on the walls now the painter has finished. But OH will have to put some new hooks in upstairs. I've washed the terracotta floor again as the painter had trodden in bits of plaster and paint. Now I can put the crib up and some decorations as we'll be eating in that room on Christmas Day.

We went to buy veg this morning, loads of people about. Got a sea bream for tomorrow as well.

Went to tea with friends this afternoon, but it turned out to be more than just tea. There was sparkling wine and home made nibbles, sweet and savoury. Other friends were also invited. I think it was a sort of celebration that his spinal operation was successful and he's on the mend.

That sounds very worthy of a celebration BL.

  • Evening all.

    That's lovely, BL.  image

How will you be cooking your sea bream?

The living room is looking very festive, with sparkly lights, assorted angels, and a march-past of 24 wooden Finnish penguins... image

My daughter is flying up to Glasgow from Luton, to spend christmas with her mother and sister.

She was due to meet her cousin and her husband later when they arrived on a flight from Bristol .

All flights out of Bristol have been cancelled following a plane slipping off the runway earlier.

  • That's a shame, Hosta.  Will they be rescheduled for later?

She had arranged a hire car at Glasgow airport.

They're picking one up in the morning in Bristol and driving up. Not the ideal way to start their break. My daughter can get a cab from Glasgow airport when she lands.
