Obs, mercifully , Waitrose have no music playing in store. Whew.

Liri, thanks. I have to confess to a lot of tongue biting at the rudeness of a tiny minority of customer.

I love the sound of christmas pudding ice cream. I have to confess to loving ice cream, but I think if I started to make my own ( as tempting as it is ) it would be a very slippery slope towards the elasticated waistband.image

I might well regret it later, but I did give in and have a siesta this afternoon.

Nope - I'd rather eat my own legs image

I quite like Christmas music but I should think, if you work in a shop, hearing the same dozen or so songs endlessly over and over from just after bonfire night might make one a touch jaded with it all. I caught part of a programme on Radio 4 this morning about 'Oh Holy Night'. Can't be doing with all the analysis but it is a lovely piece of music. I'm not the least religious but some carols have rather more musical elegance than Wizzard, even if the words make no more sense.

We're having a bit of a crisis with the water supply here. We had liquid mud coming out of the taps yesterday image. Still trying to solve it with the in-laws arriving tomorrow. They may have to put up with me hoovering around them at this rate - plumbing has taken over everything else. At least I had already got most of the cooking done

RG - with you on League of Gents.  Can't bear Wizzard either.   I do hope you get your plumbing sorted.

There was I thinking that spaghetti with a simple, garlicky tomato and clam sauce would be nice and light and OH has sneakily treated us to an organic choc tart to have with ice cream.  I shall be spherical before Xmas starts!

No bubble and squeak here Dove but I did buy extra potatoes to do a tartiflette for lunch one day next week as well as the Xmas gratin dauphinois.

Do not mention Xmas pud ice cream to OH.  I'll never hear the end of it!

Against my advice, daughter drove up this afternoon for an overnight stayimage

It was fish and chips for a quick, easy tea.

R'girl, hope the water problem gets sorted pronto.

Liri, you could well do without water leaking and having to get things driedimage

  • That's a lovely surprise for you, Joyce!  Hope she's not suffered ill effects from the driving.

Her leg was a bit painful after the drive but not too bad thanks Obelixx..

The clinic are now trying manuka honey gel dressings on the two ulcers caused by the cellulitis. Hopeful that this will speed up the healing process.

Liri, hope your OH's leg is improving from his cellulitis.
