Oh yes - DT's hair - what was that all about? image Must be for a part he's playing, I suppose

Flu - real flu that is - is very nasty. I vaguely remember having it - it was all a bit of a blur. I have half a memory of wandering 'round Tescos thinking "why did i come in here?" and then being in bed for 3 days and after that talking to my Mum on the phone in floods of tears, not because i was sad, just so very weak it was making me weepy image. It's a two week gig, real flu image. Hope your son gets through the worst of it in time for the festivities, Dove.

I'd forgotten to check the date. Hurrah for that news raisingirl.

I had proper flu 3 years ago and missed Christmas at Waitrose ( every cloud and all that ) . I lost 11 lbs in a week .

The following year I was off with " the knee"  oops.

I had "proper" flu when I was 16 and ended up in a coma with pneumonia, meningitis and encephalitis all at once.   Lost 2 stone and missed my "O" levels.  Nasty business.

"Man" flu was mentioned on Have I Got News for You.

Vary happy to celebrate the solstice.   Perfectly sensible thing to do.

Hi Dove, I'm sorry your son is ill at the moment.  I understand why you're so anxious, as it can knock the stuffing out of people rather fast; but, he's young and more resilient than children or the elderly, so I'm pretty sure he'll soon be himself again.  Your tender care will see to that!

I'm sorry about your son, Dove. What a rotten time to be ill, not only Christmas but his birthday as well. I hope he recovers quickly.

Our Carol Service in a village church went very well. The church looked lovely and the French RC priest turned up with members of his congregation. They said how much they enjoyed it and how cheerful it was. We had sparkling wine, smoked salmon sandwiches, mini Cornish pasties and Stollen afterwards. Then OH and I went to a restaurant with some of our friends. Very Périgourdine, duck, duck, duck and Cassoulet, but we enjoyed it. Delicious Vacherin for dessert.

Sorry your son‘s ill Dove, flu is horrible, thank goodness for flu jabs these days. (I know! They don’t work for everyone)  I have heard that man flu is a genuine illness and that they do suffer worse than women with it. Didn’t see the tv prog.

I’m just back from taking my son  back into hospital again.

I need to look out some unwanted veg seeds to take to my lovely gardener friends in The Gambia.

Do you have to smuggle those out Hosta, I used to work for a Charity that sent seeds to Africa, bupit of a performance getting the paper work sorted. Maybe just a few is ok though, ours were pallet loads.

Pat, I have a gadget on my seat belt that clips the seat belt away from your neck. They are perfectly safe, if you break sharpish they pop undone. similar to these.

Dove, sorry to hear that your son will be well under par for his birthday.

Lyn, hope your son can receive some effective treatment.

Had a lovely time with my daughter. She left after lunch to get most of her drive home done in daylight.

    Afternoon all.

I've just finished moving the woodchip  and made a pot of tea in readiness for Hubby's return from work.

Lyn, sorry your son is no better and thank you for your lovely card. One of the nicest I've ever received. Bless you . xx.

I'm just taking a few packets of seeds in my luggage. I guess the worse that can happen is they'll confiscate them if they spot them. It's just veg, not cannabis. Fingers crossed eh?
