Hello , Been to Chepstow today very nice Town just other side of old Seven Bridge in Monmothshire , very pleasant place , Museum and Castle and so many Pubs !
Only ever had real flu once , laid up for 2 weeks in bed ? , not good
Son sounds really poorly with his 'flu ... he actually fainted yesterday ..... he lives on his own I'm going to go over with more paracetemol and aspirin and soft drinks etc... sod the baking ... poor chap, it's his birthday tomorrow
I've had flu twice; both times I could barely walk and remember the first time (I was early teens) crying because, in an effort to get better I'd been drinking as much as I could... but I'd not got the energy to get to the loo.
Hello ... I'm home .... thank you all for your kind wishes for my son ... he said thanks too ... I consulted a pharmacist and obtained more of the Sudafed tablets for colds and flu that he's been taking, and some Ibuprofen so he can take them alternately to keep his temperature down ... that worked and he was able to get out of bed and have a bath while I was there to make sure he didn't pass out again. He has a range of crisps, biscuits and cold drinks all reachable from his bed. Think he'll survive ......... He says that next year he'll have a flu jab.
Mind you, OH's boss had to go to hospital yesterday as her flu has turned into pneumonia (but she is quite a heavy smoker )
Just wolfed down a quick mushroom omelette and flopped on the sofa ............. I'd better find out what's been going on here .........

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Glad you were able to help your son, Dove. It's no fun being ill when you're on your own... or at any other time really, but you know what I mean!
Evening all.
The leak is repaired on the boiler. Christmas has begun; Simnel cake is cooling (no, I know it's not Easter, but it's the family's favourite cake), and the raspberry ice cream is made, has passed the stringent OH taste test, and is in the freezer. Tomorrow is tree-and-decorations day - probably more gaudy than we'd do for ourselves, but the little girls will like it.
Glad you had a good time with your daughter, Joyce. Just what the doctor ordered - maybe for both of you...
Woodchip for Christmas, Hosta. What a fab present!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Just watching a programme about Champagne, with Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders - interesting. I just want to know why it is so expensive... I don't really like it tbh!
Hope everyone ok. Flu is so awful. They say the way to tell if you have flu or just a cold virus is the £10 note test... if you are told there is a £10 note just outside, on the street, and you manage to get yourself out of bed, dress and go out to retrieve it - then you only have a cold!
Extra day off work tomorrow so just a quick (I hope!) trip to buy a ham and a few bits then the weekend can officially begin!
Hello everyone. Thanks for the seatbelt info. I’ll see what Hubby can organise. If I can work out how to open the glove compartment, I’ll have a look through the handbook to see if there are any adjustments possible, before your suggestions.
another hot day. Christmas Day and Boxing Day have predictions for rain. It might cool things down, but might interfere with Hubby’s plans to BBQ a piece of Pork.

Well you can put two and two together.
I hope he's comfortable.

Liri; I really wanted to make simnel cake - close enough to Christmas cake but somehow nicer.
Aunty; I think if the £10 was at my feet when I had flu Is have left it!
AR, I think it needs to be £50. Not many victims of manflu would get out of bed for a tenner.

They really are good Pat, I wouldn’t be without them.
Thanks again Lyn. They certainly look good.
