12.5mm here in November.   The next rain is due on the 7th - OH's birthday - and they're talking about 20mm.   Bring it on!  Glad you've had a good dose at last Pat.

Good to see you Glenys.  Hope OH gets his cricket fix Chicky.   I think I've lost the plot on those fairies but good to see a boy and a girl.   Did you get that jumper finished Dove?

Possum's offers are from a lobbying company that works in EU circles in Brussels so a great potential source of experience and contacts for future employment.  The other is in Namur doing PR and event organising for a set of start-ups sharing office and work space.  Guess which we're advising her to take.

Cosmos doesn't seem that worried by his paw.  He can walk on it and doesn't wriggle much any more when I'm doing the twice daily clean and bandaging.  He even had a bit of a play last night and is very cuddly - claw in my nose at 7am wanting breakfast and snuggles in reverse order.  It's starting to look a bit better again now but still needs a professional seeing to under a microscope now.

We're off to an Xmas market at Beaulieu-sous-la-Roche later today.  It's supposed to be a good one with local foodie suppliers and crafties.   Hope it's good.

Have a good day all.   Hope it's a good day for projects.  Comforting hugs to all feeling low.

Dove have you got a battery charger ? We always have one in the shed for  the cars if it goes flat on us. Especially handy in cold weather.

We have a small battery charger just in case the mower dies from lack of use but haven't needed one for the cars so far.  Good job as our old jump leads died.  I did take Sally to patchwork last week to give her a blast cos she'd sat in the garage doing nothing since I got back from Bilbao.

Love the winter light for photos on sight seeing trips Dove so two birds with one stone?

Busy kitchen day so far - batch of bolognese for the freezer, red salad for lunches and a Swiss almond and poppy seed loaf for patchwork on Monday.  Needs a day or two to develop the flavour.

  • We used to have a battery charger when we lived in a very rural area but in 20+ years of living on the edge of Norwich we've never had a battery problem ... I think it may be that the battery is getting old and not holding a charge too well ... it may well need replacing before too long,

No chance for photos today Obelixx ... the A47 between Acle and Gt Yarmouth is notorious for accidents as it's just single traffic either way ... making it worse today was the fact that all the laybys were closed off due to roadworks so no chance of stopping anywhere along there ........ but it was glorious just to see it all image

  • Hosta - the baby is apparently not called Andrew, even though we dropped hints...  image  his dad, our son, is Andrew and we never called him Andy - but of course his friends at Uni did.  He just answers to anything these days!

LilyP - sorry your OH has such trouble with cellulitis.  I can see we'll have to be vigilant in the future - but hopefully we'll recognise the symptoms; OH just thought he had the winter vomiting bug and some strange sort of leg strain, until it went bright red...  image

Just back from the Christmas Floristry event - we had great fun making wreaths and jam jar posies. I realised that I have plenty of the 'raw materials' in my garden, so I might have a go at making some more things.

I will have a good read back now, before thinking about Saturday night's grub.

Hope everyone is doing ok this evening.

    Evening all!

I've been at a Christmas fayre for work - didn't sell a single card / calendar / raffle ticket unfortunately so our fundraising pot is now £10 down rather than up. But at least our name is getting out there.

For some reason a stall holder next to me (lady in her 70s and borderline ecentric) wanted to tell me all about 1960s birth control and why young woman now shouldn't have children.

You'll be pleased to know I smiled and nodded and resisted the temptation to tell her I was a lesbian / mother at 15 / a firmer believer that birth control is a sin.

I can be well behaved sometimes!

  • An 'interesting' day Clari image  Get yourself something lovely for supper ... sounds like you deserve it ((hugs))
