You're ahead of us Joyce. France is on storm Carmen with the worst bits in the north and west but she has a tail that's whipping things up here a bit. Nothing excessive yet but definitely noisier and greyer than at dawn. Still dry but wet bits promised for later on.

Went back to bed at 3. Up at 7, sorted daughter and waited to hear that she'd arrived safely at destination, went back to bed at 9 (I never do that). Did sleep, then up again at 11. Not functioning much more than when I was in bed. Got a concert and a meal to attend. It's only a heavy cold and a bad night but am unbelievably sleepy. Am hoping adrenaline or something will kick in!
We had our dose of lashing rain and strong winds last night. Grey and dry-ish now.

It’s 11.50 pm here and waiting for the live footage of the fireworks on Sydney Harbour Bridge. In the meantime Jimmy Barnes and his daughter, Mahalia, are screaming into microphones on stage, waiting for the big event.
