Time for a nice relaxing cuppa I think. We’re sweltering here. I hope you holiday is as warm for you. We had nearly 7mm rain overnight, but it’s very steamy today.
Morning all , g'day Pat .....anything would be better than this soggy mess bottom pic !.....it's normally like the pretty top pic and - 20 to -30 argghhhhhh!!! It all changes so quickly .... the middle one was Christmas day last week .
The snow came so quickly this year we did not even get a chance to clean the leaves up .... even the pesky moles can now burrow from the depths
We are gearing up for the big event tomorrow evening , kitchen is throbbing with preparation. Our guests , my wife's cousins and family left Naberezhnye Chelny in Tatarstan early this morning ....they will be on the train for 19 hours
Hosta .....listened to JK on DID podcast by chance last week , an amazing lady .....her music choices were incredible ...from Jimi Hendrix to Tchaikovsky .....we really have to read HP sometime
Not got to supermarket yet, but I am writing the list .......
Dacha ... my son has been to Tatarstan and Bashkortostan where his ex is from .... we in the west have no idea of the distances involved .... that's not even halfway across Russia ....... have a lovely family gathering
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Lovely - and contrasting - pics Dacha and Pat. It's wet, cold and windy here. Not going to venture out, even to plant bulbs.
I agree with you re JKR, Hosta. What's not always recognised is that she also pretty much saved the UK film industry. Michael Morpurgo has also had a big, though less meteoric, impact. A good author is a powerful being!
Speaking of authors, I just spotted that the less-edited version of the Armistead Maupin event is on R3 on New Year's Day (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09k869s). Including the Bernstein 'Candide' overture . No Maupin fans here? Mona, Mouse, Mary-Ann and Mrs Madrigal are like family to me.
Oh! The sun's just come out! That was unexpected.
Must go and do sonething useful. See you later.

Uh oh, it’s you again Hosta at 4.45am.

Hi Pat.
If we could arrange to swap some of our rain , for some of your heat, I'd be thrilled for us both.
Our garden is now sodden. Land drains are struggling to cope with the saturation of water.
Nice thought, but if only ......
Good morning all
G'day Pat
Just surfacing here ... OH has just left for work ... I'll finish my coffee and get to the supermarket early ... well, that's the plan ...

Off for a walk to blow away the cobwebs. Think we are going to climb Black Down (just a hill, don’t be too impressed
) - nice views from the top.
Read Maupin a while ago - not all of them but the first few - remember Mrs Madrigal with a smile
