Well done Hosta image  Best to leave the bottom corner ... it was a bit boggy when we were there wasn't it?  Don't want you getting stuck down there and having to send for the neighbour and his tractor to tow you out image

Hmm... maybe a new pair of trainers instead? The buses around here are scary and with planes being a bit... unreliable. ?

Evening  all, morning Pat, we could do with seeing some spring bulb pics Pat, its chilly here now!

Fairy, loved that album like you, think it says an impressive amount about you Fairy, that you have seen all your hero's live! Good for you, keep gigging! I've seen Prince twice and Pink Floyd, not much but I'll add to it, and they were blinking amazing experiences!

Raisingirl, had american girl in my head all day but its been good company image

Joyce, think we are all moving in with you, the only person with warm weather! I've been gardening all day in a long sleeved top, a fleece and light jacket! Been cold too! Even with that lot on!

Dove, I'm looking forward to seeing those bulbs in bloom!

Greetings to everyone, I'm pooped and my brain can't remember anymore, sorry! Have a lovely evening all!

    Evening one and all.

The annual heating-going-on chat always makes me laugh. We have just had a new 'thingy' installed so we can remotely change the temperature in every room etc, and it has already caused 'debate'. I was brought up on the 'put a jumper on' school of thought,  although my Mum always opened the kitchen window when cooking even when heating on. My OH is of the 'a house should be warm enough to wear a T-shirt' brigade. I think we discussed the minefield of sharing a bed with someone with different climate control requirements before too!

Hope everyone is ok - and is warm enough, by way of heating, fire, jumpers or animal.

My parents would put the heating on as a special treat when visitors came round. I always wondered what they must have thought at the pile of thick blankets on the spare chair that we'd normally be huddled up in. It was only after I left home I found out that my parents rooms were so much warmer than anywhere else in the house! I remember putting my school clothes in a pillowcase in the bed so I could get changed without leaving the duvet.

Now my partner is the type of person who is in a t shirt in three foot of snow so I am back under my blankets! 16'C in the lounge right now apparently.

Funny though I feel the cold; I have to have the window in the bedroom open even when it's bitter out.

Might be the safest way. My current pair are in danger of being a little more aerated than is best suited for long distance walks.

Get your woolie hats at the ready Wonky. I've noticed on our evening stroll it was definately biting around the edges.

We never turn our heating off image It does turn itself off when the weather's really warm. It was on for most of July and hasn't been off at all in August and September. So today I've been wearing two jumpers, we had the fire lit and the central heating's on. Fair to say it's quite chilly here. And it's starting to get rather windy out there now.

My tulip bulbs arrived in the post this week - if all goes well with the vet tomorrow, I may get a chance to start planting up my spring pots on Friday. Since the dog got broke I've not been able to get outside much because I can't leave him for long and it's been too cold for him to sit out apart from one or two days in the whole 6 weeks image. So fingers crossed he gets the OK to come out of jail tomorrow, poor sausage. He is sooooo bored

It's warm here and dry but no gardening.  6 of my Belgian scientists are coming for lunch on Sunday so I'm having a cleaning frenzy now that my "new" dining table and chairs are almost done.   One more feed of oil on 4 of the chairs and then cushion pads to fix and cover.    Still thinking about what to cook.

It gets cool at night but still on summer quilt here.   Rug on the sofa in the evenings or a jumper.   Gave up doing bulbs in pots in Belgium as they'd usually freeze to a mush but did some here last year and they were good.  Whilst buying seed compost on Monday some orange emperor and Quebec tulips leapt into my trolley along with some very dark blue hyacinths and a seed mix for flowers to attract and feed birds.   .

I find live music painful - they don't perform it the same as the recordings (usually not an improvement) and it hurts cos it's way too loud.  Haven't bothered since Paul Simon's Graceland tour except for taking Possum and 2 other friends, age 13, to see Avril Levigne.  Took ear plugs for that one.

Ours is on all the time too RG but we turn off all the radiators till it gets colder so it just does hot water.

    Good luck at the vet's.

I could never sleep with the bedroom window open.

In Winter it'd be too cold , and in Summer, I'd hear every single thing outside and bugs would fly in . EEK!.

When we had our flat in Goa, we had the windows open, but we had mozzy screens and it didn't go below 23C at night, Lovely.
