Exactly Dove maybe I did not put it so clearly its the ones who start then stop before the end of the course, that are the problem. And with Malaria especially those that don't continue after they come home because they think they are safe. They don't understand they could be bitten on the last day/ night of the holiday and carry it back home with them.
I have practically give up on NHS and their doctors, if anything had been left to them, my son would be dead by now, it was only that I could afford private that’s he’s living now. They can only afford to give the cheapest drugs and that was useless to him.
Talkng of eye conditions, I have Sjogrens, no tears or oil glands, the stuff the doctors supply on nhs is absolutely useless, I buy mine and sons drops and night gepls on the Internet. No questions asked.
I suppose because I now qualify for free prescriptions they only give you the cheap stuff.
Cynic, like my dearest friend Hostafan, that’s my rant over.?

The NHS is underfunded because one government after another refuses to acknowledge that if we want a proper service we have to pay for it ... they won't be honest with the public and implement tax rises to pay for it because they're scared they won't be re-elected. Its amazing how higher rate tax payers are happy to pay for private health care for themselves and their families but aren't prepared to pay a slightly larger proportion of their wealth for the good of all.
A different sort of cynic here ... and my rant's over too.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I think the French way of paying the doctor is good, but maybe the reimbursement of about 2/3 of it by the French health service is an expensive way of administrating it. Why not pay a small set fee each time you go to the GP? Or a charge for meals in hospital, like in France? You would have to pay for a meal at home anyway.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
It’s been interesting reading about all the malaria medication etc. since I’ve never travelled overseas, I’ve never had to think about it.
Obelixx. You reminded me of my friend when her daughter produced a baby girl who was very difficult right from the start. Now that little daughter is 4, and a very strong willed little thing, my friend tells her daughter that at long last it is “payback time” (with a big grin).
Im finding the time change particularly irritating since we went back and now that you about to change again, it’ll be 11 hours. The only times I can connect are early morning of last thing at night.
Best wishes to those of you with aches and pains, and other worries.
Wow ...blood , mosquitoes and other stuff.....have just watched the GNS with Hillary .......the show was very entertaining .....I never liked the woman but I ,reluctantly , thought she was quite engaging
Lovely to read all your "witterings", almost keeping me sane.
No real progress at the moment and still really breathless, but they are looking after me really well, although ignoring my requests to go home and come in daily. I am of course doing as i am told
Really despondent to read about Jared O'Mara, the Labour MP for Hallam [ my costituency ]
He is the first Labour MP we have ever had and I campaigned tirelessly for him. To say I feel let down is an understatement.
As for Malaria, having taken various different meds., over many years, all i would say, is that if you have a Travel Health Clinic near you, I would use it.
Malarial resistance patterns are changing all the time and the correct drugs for you also depend upon other medications you may be taking.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team

Can I be your deputy?
Right, coal face duty beckons.
