That's not good Busy. No storms here but we do have power surge/lightening strike protected extension leads for our TV/satellite/internet/phone sockets, just in case. Might be an idea for you.
Talk about topical. Did anyone see the One Show item on stem cell treatments for PDoc's possible problem? Exeprimental here and only funded by a charity, not the NHS, but the norm in Germany. Worth a look Pdoc.
This Star Wars costume is flipping complicated! I'm expecting more grey hairs by the time it's done - tomorrow I hope so I can post it to Possum. No schedule on the shower room but hope it will be done by Xmas tho I doubt I'll get the bedroom painted by then and I am not sleeping in that green and turquoise combo!
LG - no ideas yet for the stones but once the chaps have finished driving in their trucks and stuff I shall be moving my herb bed up to that area behind the house so it's handier for the kitchen. Might use some as edgers. Your course sounds interesting.
LP - glad you're back safe and Liri that wood looks amazing. No fairies here but we do have 2 gnomes Oh rescued from his parents' garden after his dad died. I'm still working on them having an accident r being re-homed somehow.
Have a pleasant evening everyone.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Noooo don't do it Obxx! I understand your feelings about the gnomes but as a sentimental old fool I can't countenance them being sabotaged.
Turns out that the aforementioned book is a bit rubbish. I should have looked more closely before leaving the library with it. Still, no harm done - at least I didn't buy it.
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
Just found that my son-in-law managed to photograph the "eye" of Ophelia through the kitchen window. You can't see the blue sky but it's still quite impressive...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Obelixx, thanks for putting up those photos. Our news tv hasn’t shown any of those things. It all looks rather frightening. I don’t envy you making that costume for your daughter. It brings back memories. I like the idea of getting that old fellow to come and tell you about the history of the place. We just had a light shower which mobilised me to get the washing off the line, then it stopped. Frustrating
Clari, I feel for you with the grandparents. Difficult.
Hosta, any chance of a flat white when you next get on the coffee machine ?
Lilyp, I love the look of your wood,
Joyce, I’m not sure if I missed it, but was that tree a Eucalytp?
Busyl, I hope the flood damage gets sorted soon. We have the same problem with phones. We kept the old Telecom one for just that reason. If there is a power outage, we can still ring the electricity company to find out what’s going on (or should I say off).
Punkdoc. Thoughts with you. I hope they can sort it soon. We always think the worst, don’t we.
ill be out of reach for a couple of days since my iPad hasn’t been told how to connect to other people’s connections. This was Hubby’s decision. Will catch up on Saturday night (my time).

Bother, just found that the storm has destroyed 3 telephones. Only one that works is the bedroom one that doesn't need electricity.

Maybe I can just bury them in some greenery somewhere remote then.
Have you seen this on the RHS site for cars and front gardens? - https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=738
AR - glad the kittens are OK.
We have surge protection for the Livebox but not for the kitchen and sitting room phones. Maybe we should.
Yes. Good for PCs too.
Have just watched the Bake Off and not convinced that the right person went. Hey ho.

I knew I'd regret falling asleep at 5.30 this afternoon.
