How long does it take you to drive from here to St. Ives?

It's a good half hour past Truro, Hosta, if that gives you any idea.

I love the Far Side - couldn't possibly pick a favourite though

Hope everyone who's off on their hols or trips away shortly - and most of you seem to be - has a good time

Good morning all.  Hope you're having a good day.

Sunny here with cloudy bits which will clear and give us 20C later on.   However, apart form splitting my new carex to finish the front door pots and taking cuttings of penstemons I shall be stuck indoors grappling with a Star Wars costume for Possum - top, pants, tunic thingy easy-peasy.  The belt, arm bands and leg thingies are another matter entirely.

Like the look of the new Tate Hosta.   I'm meeting Possum in Bilbao for Halloween and have been on the Guggenheim website but the only thing of interest seems to be the building itself.   Anyone been?

Look out for the November issue of Country Living.  There's a two-page spread of my friends' garden with photos by Marianne Majerus, a Luxembourg based photographer.

Never seen those cartoons before but they are good.  Thanks for sharing.

Dacha - I love Manchester.  Great city and lovely people.  Enjoy your family but keep the little one off your foot!

Hope you have a good time in Brum Chicky.  Don't know that city at all - saw it once in the 70s and drove thru in the 90s escaping an M42/M5 pile up and that was enough but I gather it's changed.

Pat - glad it's helping.  Hope it works and you get off the meds.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I've foolishly asked on the "tropical" forum on FB for nursery recommendations near St Ives. they're pouring in.

    Devon.
  • Wow so many far side lovers on here , I have all the Gary Larson books . If you are thinking of a present for a loved one and you have a few bob to spend then you can't go wrong with this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-Far-Side-Gary-Larson/dp/0740721135 .......read the comments and you will see why image

I found  access to a  legal free PDF download of the book but I know many people don't like to do that !

We're thinking of driving down. How long does it take you to drive from here to St. Ives?

We're really looking forward to seeing  the new gallery extension from the inside ... we've seen it a lot from the outside as it's developed because the apartment we stayed in for the last couple of years is just along from there.

Think it usually takes us a couple of hours from you ... depends on traffic of course.  We recommend the Park & Ride train service from Lelant Saltings very highly ... that's what I'd do if I were you.

Thanks for that Dove. That park and ride is free this weekend to coincide with the opening.

Sounds like a good plan. ( plus nurseries . sshhh image )

Dacha - my sister actually did that once with her  rake  image

We had a lot of the books - but they were really my ex hubby's so I don't have custody of any. imageStrangely, I recently started looking for some on t'interweb, as I'd been taking to the girls about them, so I might treat myself.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I have bought plants from here:

And this place is good, although expensive.
