Clari, you'll know at least some of his music ... you must have heard 'Free Fallin' and 'Won't Back Down' and what about 'Handle with Care' and the other stuff he did as part of the Travelling Wilburys with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison and Jeff Lynne ... he's written and recorded so much as well as performing with so many people from Stevie Nicks to ... well, everyone who's anyone really ... hold on a min ....................................... here you are ..........https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Petty
I know you're a young 27, but you can't be so young you've not heard at least something he's done ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
BL, you are not alone re Tom Petty. I was brought up on classical music and it's still my music of choice - though I did go through a phase of listening to Radio London on the school bus (it was on the loudspeakers so I had no choice!). I like jazz too though. Sorry folks.
That moon was gorgeous! Here it had a bit of a halo, shining through a thin veil of cloud, but was no less beautiful for that.
If the rain holds off, I'll try giving the soggy lawn its last cut of the year.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
No wonder I haven't heard of The Travelling Wilburys, that was the late 80s and we moved to France in 1985. The music stars here were mostly unheard of in the UK. Just out of interest, has anyone heard of Daniel Balavoine? He died in a helicopter crash in the year after we moved. The French were in mourning but I'd never heard of him.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Dylan, Orbison and the Beatles were 'before my time' largely (which is not to say I don't love a lot of their music). But ELO and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were part of the soundtrack to my music listening years.
Me neither. I'm a 60's music child and found the 70s, 80s and 90s to be dire by comparison with one or two exceptions. Moved to Belgium in 1991 which meant a change to radio style and content and very little mention of who was performing what plus a sprinkling of French pop and rock which makes UK 70s look positively inspired but also some Spanish, Italian, German etc - far more than a UK radio station would play. Similar situation here in France where they have a quota requirement for French language on the playlists. That, fortunately, means a lot of Belgian Stromae but hardly any Jacques Brel these days as well as the usual run of the mill French stars.
Far more interested these days in whether it's danceable anyway.
Woke up to bright, clear, crisp feeling sunny day. 11C when we set off to the SM and 20C on the way back. Unfortunately, it was cloudy overnight so no direct view of the harvest moon but it was certainly bright where light escaped through the clouds.

I'm afraid I don't recognise the names of the songs. I'll crack out the you tube and see if I recognise the vibrations. I'm really not that well tuned up with music.

One of my favourite Tom Petty songs, for those of you not familiar with his oeuvre

I have to day Dove, I've never heard of any of those tracks either.
I know " Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers" by name, but I couldn't name a song if my life depended upon it.
Much weed clearance on lake and , with hardly any wind, I'm able to work where I want without drifting in the wind.
