This afternoon we took daughter's mare to the equestrian centre. I was expecting trouble loading into the trailer, but it only took about 5 minutes. She was very curious about everything when we arrived but didn't want to walk into the loose box in the big barn stables, so we backed her in. I hope she settles down, has always lived out in the field, but she was making friends with the horse in the next door box. She will have 4 weeks training then I'll take her to my daughter's place.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hello Pat ... Don't know where the others were ... I was sorting paperwork ... now I've woken in the wee small hours ... Unusual for me ... I'd better get back to sleep ... I've got physio in the morning.
Glad you've had some rain
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Both my chainsaw and strimmer have been playing up lately and someone told me that 2 stroke mix " goes off" I'd done a bit of googling but couldn't find anything conclusive but I decided to dump the mix I had stored in a can and start again.
2 stroke oil colours petrol a bit red but when I dumped it , it was more brown, so I thought " it's gone off" but no, it was flippin' rust from inside the can. No wonder stuff wasn't working. gggrrr.
Went to get some new petrol and realised I'd left my credit card at home ( I'd been paying bills with it online and not put it back in my wallet )
" Don't worry about it, just fill up and you can phone me when you get home and give me the number" said the lovely girl at the filling station.
" By the way, what IS your name? I can't keep calling you " that really nice man from Waitrose" "
That made my day.
Anyway, came home then I was like a man possessed by chainsaw. Lots of firewood cut from the trees we'd felled earlier in the year
In bed at 8.45 . My daughter woke me at 9 when she called so I got up and watched the remainder of the Ganges with Sue Perkins then went back to bed.

-4C not that cold DL, unless it's damp and then it's horrible.
Getting very warm here now. Shorts weather. Sorry to all freezing or drowning.
I’m keen to check the rain gauge in the morning because we’ve had heavy rain this evening. Woopee!
night all.
Sweet dreams Pat

That’s a relief that it went so well BusyL. A big load off your mind.
This is weird. Where are you all? Nothing between Dove at 1403, then BusyL at 22.42.
Usually when I go to sleep and then wake several hours later, there’s lots to read. Hmmm.
Our rain gauge measured 12.5 mm over night so I’m pleased with that.

Thanks again Dove. Hope you got some sleep and best wishes for your new exercises. I’m keen to see what they give you to do.
Morning all.
