Sadly, since I have now been reunited with my Kindle, it's too late to take the lovely Sean a jar of home-made raspberry jam as a thank you present... but thanks to all for the idea. He's happy for me to give a donation to Save the Children.
Dacha, my son has been patiently explaining to his Luddite mother about things on Kindles still being present in the cloud. I'm trying to keep up with technology but if I can't see it (as with the cloud), I find it harder to grasp. It's good to know the contents wouldn't have disappeared for ever, anyway. I didn't have any personal stuff on it, apart from my name*, and certainly no bootleg material...
*it did occur to me that it's helpful to have an unusual surname. Had I been "Jane Smith" (apologies to any out there!), the aforementioned "lovely Sean" might have given up his search on Facebook.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Evening all, night Pat, hope you have a nice time away
Still chuckling to myself trying to imagine Obelixx, squeezing through a cat flap as she mentioned the chaps were putting one in for her!
Lirio, lovely to have you back! Safe and sound too and a great picture of the eye! So nice to have your faith in peoples goodness restored by the kindle return!
Lilyp, best wishes and hope your feeling more yourself again very soon x
Pdoc, sounds like your an interesting case! Glad your getting full attention!
I'm with you Joyce, I talk to animals more than people! I prefer it that way!
Hosta, I love a catnap but never have one after about 3pm in case it stops me sleeping, apparently magnesium is good for insomnia, something on radio 2 today x
Dove, I'd go with the homemade food as a thank you! Think Dacha would too!
Got a posh bed being delivered from freecycle, lots of storage and got a new mattress last week so the back is in for a treat tonight!
Hope everyone has a lovely evening! Everyone I've missed, never forgotten, just so many of us to mention! Lovely isn't it!
BL - what a drag with your leccy probs etc. I know we have issues here with workmen, but at least we can usually get someone out within a few hours if we have a problem with gas, water or leccy.
Hope it's not too rough down your way Hosta. They've been mentioning the winds coming in for the weekend further south and in coastal areas.
Alan Sugar? What a fanny. There, I've said it. Nearly as bad as that clown at Ryanair
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Joyce - I'd rather eat my own hair than go on a bus journey
I always said to my girls that if I ever suggest going on a Lochs and Glens coach along Loch Lomond, to just put the pillow over my head. 'Tea and a wee' at Inveruglas...no thanks!
He was at the foot of Beinn Luibhean ( Rest and be Thankful ) that little sheep, just as I set out. I always speak to the sheep when I'm out
Forecast is looking pants right enough - unless I head far north east, and even then.....

Posts
Dove; there was a post about flame throwers from a William new poster asking for advice on whether we used flame throwers to get rid of weeds.
A personal message he then sent told me he was writing for a "national newspaper" and would I have my photo taken using my flame thrower...
... tsk like he could afford what I charge for my photograph!!
Anywho; told admin and hurrah they come in swift and protect us.

Look at his cheeky wee face

Fairy, I would talk to the sheep if there were any around. Cows and horses too. I just swear at the grey squirrels
Doesn't look as though you will be taking to the hills this weekend. You could go for a wee hurl using your bus pass if you have it

Dacha - it's a well used Scottish expression ( or possibly just Glaswegian) I'm sure you can guess the meaning!
