Had a good tidy round the garden - I had forgotten that I had left a wheelbarrow with prunings in and it was half full of stinky water so I managed to splash that on my trousers! The birds are having a bean-feast at the moment (berry feast?) - saw two Jays earlier! Better than TV Punkdoc (exception of Blue Planet - wow! make time for that everyone).
Hot shower now then quick SM trip before the Halloween lock-down! Expect the SM staff will be dressed up! (Obv not you Hosta!). The staff will be so busy this week, as the Halloween aisle will be swiftly replaced by tinsel and tat (do like those tubs of twiglets and cheese footballs though...)
doc - how lovely of your mum. That made me smile when I read it
A bit of tree hugging and the sight of those beautiful little birds will have helped enormously. My daughter gave me a little notebook with a drawing of long tails on it. Inside it describes them as 'tiny clouds in tracksuits'
I took some photos on Sunday, Pat, but they're similar to a couple of other walks as you have the same route up to the lochan at Sgurr Eilde Mor before you head up the different hills which can be accessed from that point. I'll put a couple on the camera thread if I can find it though. Liri - the six hours under the heater in the car helped the shoes enormously ...
Hope Obs has had a good day sightseeing.
BL - that's a rubbish birthday present! Hope you got some cake and flowers at the very least to go with it
We'll be doing the same here AuntyR. Bah humbug etc. My youngest daughter has the right idea - she bought Hallowe'en sweets at the cheapo shop last week, and intends eating them herself
Chicky - that's a very small pumpkin - that one in the front.....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Punk: the grandparents (those ones we are thinking about long term nursing plans, and whom I have another weekend booked to spend at their house looking after them) are ALWAYS offering to come and help me. Usually really inappropriate things like wallpapering or digging a 6ft hole for a pond. they think I'm brave when I do manly technical things like changing a light bulb but have no concept of how insane it would be to get granddad up the ladder to do it.
I think it's ace your mum wants to help out! But maybe ought stick o being a friendly voice to chat too before she gets carried away and starts getting you dressed.
it would have made a nice 'pumpkin' house for a little fairy, chicky....
Lovely pic
I'll wave the wand for LP to get some nice weather. Perthshire is very bonny at this time of year. Bonny most of the time really, although the trees are losing their foliage so rapidly now, that the best colour is largely over. I could have done with being in Kinlochleven a couple of weeks ago as the view from above the woodland wuld have been pretty fine.
Off to watch Bake Off too - who are we all betting on for the win? Sophie p'rhaps?

Lovely, Dove, lucky you.
Mum is still your Mum Punkdoc, I don't suppose she's remembered her poor eyesight and her wobbliness when thinking of looking after her dear son.
I've been sorting estimates for the Insurance assessor to do with the bathroom flood.
Still cold outside, 5°, but sunny. Have some pots still left to plant, may do it tomorrow, supposed to be warmer.
Some wonderful stories here ....PD .....your 90 year old mum is the most inspiring thing I have read on here for a while ......go for it
Evening all.

I paid to have my flu jab today; they don't give out stickers at Boots! I was not amused.
