    Hi all.

Thanks for all the good wishes and suggestions.

I slept for over 12 hours yesterday, which i am sure was good for me.

Funniest thing last night, was talking to Mum [ 90 ] and she thought it might be a good idea, if she were to come up and look after meimage

Todays plan is to wrap up, walk slowly round the garden and hug some of my trees.

Harrumph! Just had a text from spec savers reminding me of my appointment at 9am tomorrow -  I distinctly remember arranging it for 1pm to follow on from my dental checkup nearby

at 12 noon. I wouldn't have booked an appt at 9 cos it's too early to use my bus pass I've cancelled it and will phone later to rearrange when I've checked some other dates with OH. How irritating image

Punkdoc, that’s very nice of your mum to think about you like that and and if it’s at all possible let her come, whether she can look after you or not doesn’t matter, when us mums get old we cherish moments like that to have a last go at helping our children. It will be good for her as well as you.

Morning all. Great idea to have some garden-worship Punkdoc - nature's tonic.

The plan this evening will be to draw all curtains and blinds, disconnect the outside light and not answer the door to anybody. Yes - call me a grumpy old Aunty, but I don't indulge in giving free sweets to stranger's kids, just because they have coerced their parents into spending money on ridiculous fancy dress. (I'll save my "Christmas: should we replace it with Winterval?" discussion for later in the year.)

Bit grey today, but I need to rake away the browned reeds from the pond edge, plus general leaf-clearing etc. I might put the pond net on, as the large Acer is just turning it's leaves now and usually drop mid-November.

    Have a plesant day everyone.

I agree that it is amazing that Mum still wants to help. Sadly she is virtually blind and not very steady on her feet, maybe not the perfect combination at the moment.

Have just sat watching a flock of Long Tailed Tits in one of the Hawthorns, joyous.

Around here, if people put Hallowe'en decorations outside their homes it indicates that they're up for a visit from the local children but those of us who don't are left in peace.  image

I've just been spending money  image ... not only have I paid for half our next year's holiday, but I've booked a couple of really good seats for Glyndebourne Touring Opera's Mme Butterfly in March ... very excited image
