OH’s brother used to get absolutely terrible headaches, they did every test possible, couldn’t find the cause, so suggested Transcendental meditation, it worked and after twenty years, he still does it, although not for so long now.

Step son swears by yoga, has depression, and lots of other mental problems.  He has bad panic attacks and says they are much more infrequent since the yoga.

I think punkdoc being a medical man would probably not believe in alternative medicines but there’s something to be said for it, for our family anyway.  Even if it is ‘only in the mind’ as some say, it will still help if you want it too.

Punk: lots of people mention yoga. For me, my mind being very tangled, I would find myself going through my shopping list or counting the tiles and sometimes trying to do my times tables.

Which at least distracted me from the pain if only for a short while.

It may work better for you; someone whose mind is less jumbled. Or it may not. But it gets you out the house and gets you some fresh air so nothing lost.

I'm sending anther hug from me to Punkdoc. Everyone has said (and probably better expressed) what I want to say.

Bit sad here ... found a dead songthrush by the big east-facing studio window. image

We can't close the blinds there at the moment to disrupt the reflection of the rising sun in the morning because of some work being done on that side of the studio ..........   OH has made some paper silhouettes of raptors and stuck them to the inside of the windows and I've also put pots of bamboo canes and climbers in front of the windows ....

I've also ordered some black plastic raptor silhouettes which can be fixed to the outside of the windows which will be more effective than the paper ones inside ......... wish we'd done it earlier image

Son filled my tooth with a temporary filling, needs an inlay.

Did a bit of shopping on the way home and did ironing this afternoon in front of the TV. Picked what is probably the last of the runner beans and a red pepper. Air felt chilly and it was sunny today, think it will be a cold night.

Dove, where did you order the silhouettes from please?

Busy, your visit to son for a filling has reminded me that I need to make an appointment for a dental checkup.

Joyce, I ordered these  GARDMAN 6 X BIRD ALERT WINDOW/GLASS STICKERS/SILHOUETTES from Amazon.

Should be here in two or three days.    I chose these because the reviews said that as well as being effective, they're easy to remove and replace so I reasoned that they shouldn't leave too much stickiness on the window glass.

    Evening all.

Sorry to hear your news doc. I can't add anything to what's been said. We're here for you to 'lean on' in a virtual way, as and when you need it. Sending fairy dust... xxx

Had a rubbish day yesterday, which started off with me forgetting my boots. Decided the paths were good enough for just my walking shoes (the boggy bits can be got round) but after falling in the burn when crossing, and therefore having sopping wet feet, I wasn't optimistic, epecially with the low temps. When me knees started giving me grief half way up to the ridge, I decided to call it a day. My feet started to dry out a little on the way back, and I negotiated the burn without going for a swim, but the real scunner was the traffic jam on the way home which meant the two and half hour journey took me nearly six hours  image

On the plus side - having the heater full on, directed at my feet, meant my shoes were almost dry by the time I got back....

Shame about the thrush Dove. We once had a young owl fly into a bedroom window. I presume he got away safely, but there was an incredible imprint on the glass.

Glad you had a lovely birthday LP. Plenty of cake consumed, I hope  image

Hope the dental work won't be too pricey BL  image

Brought my pelargoniums in this evening. They were fine with the frost last night, and they're against the house wall, but I don't want to forget about them and lose them.

Off for a look round with a cuppa now.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
