Oh, 4 hours sleep Hosta, you are sooo lucky, I went to bed at 11, feeling sleepy, gave up and got up at 3, bought (yet another book on "sleep") did the latest GW crossword, my it was hard, managed 13 out of the 26, but thats what book said, no TV, go to bed when you get sleepy, I gave up and went to bed at 4.30, not feeling sleepy, just banging headache. Took a co-codamol. Slept a little. (up at 7.30) no-where near enough, got out 2 tins of food for one dog, already had one tin of his open.  Basically, the book says I dont have "insomnia" its because I worked 20 years nights before retiring, brain has got set, every now and then, I will sleep one hour, because thats what our break at work was.  Anyone out there who worked years of nights got any tips?  Done the sleep hygene, even to the point of: new bed, completely deocorated bedroom white, no fancy patterns, just a nice comfy sacturary, of Hygge! Dont possess "smart" phone, no electrics in the bedroom, just old fashioned alarm for Hubby to get up for work.  Its VERY windy, BUT folks its my BIRTHDAY, and its sunny and blue sky, have teetered around the estate, in my PJs wih a cuppa, (and fed the dogs their "proper" food!  Daughter and grandkids coming for dinner this evening (take away) NOT cooking dinner, dogs gave me a card and bottle of favorite plonk, maybe take them on the beach, later.  Usually have nice weather on my Birthday, anyone else got a Birthay today, a Happy one to all you fellow "well balanced" souls Haha!

Waiting here to find out if Stourhead will be open today ......they are currently doing a pitch inspectionimage

Had a lovely meal out last night - great food and a lovely cosy atmosphere.  The waitresses all looked the same ages as the chicklets and were rushed off their feet - they certainly earned their pennies with a smile ?

Morning all. The Sun has appeared. It has revealed another ton of windfalls for me to collect today so I must deal with those. I have just remembered that I forgot to remove chicken from the freezer last night so I will have to re-think today's casserole. I would be happy with all veggies but OH would be horrified!

Happy Birthday NannyB! When I used to work nights, we were told to help the brain by having some daylight each morning. I remember that horrible hangover/jet-lag/virus-like feeling which ruined the days off in between - grim. I don't suppose the habits of years of topsy-turvy sleep can be easily reversed - hope you can find a way.
