I saw this Common Crab Spider sat waiting for lunch to arrive and thought it had no chance. Everyone else seems to have those nifty looking crab spiders that change colour to match the flowers and I've got this idiot stuck out like a sore thumb :|
But it turns out flies aren't very bright either...
and lots of frustrating missed photos today. My only shot of a new tiny bee was too blurred to identify it properly and this huge black ichneumon was sat nicely on my hand showing it was almost as long as my little finger but the camera just wouldn't focus on it for some reason and it took off before I could sort it out :s  This was the only photo I managed to get of it.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I was interested to see these spider egg sacs (with watching parents) in my green bin. The sacs look blue.

I found a moth, a fairly dull moth in all honesty and I used my phone for the photo which made it look even duller but I found the ID for it eventually. It's called 'The Engrailed'. Sounds like a death metal band but I Googled the meaning and got this:
"Engrailed is a homeodomain transcription factor involved in many aspects of multicellular development. First known for its role in arthropod embryological development, working in consort with the Hox genes, engrailed has been found to be important in other areas of development."
