    Insects of the day in my garden
    Cetonia aurata, the rose chafer at lunch amidst a large flower of Japanese spirea.
    Unidentified bumblebee at lunch over a flower of spiderwort, spider lily 'Sweet Kate'.

  • I was collecting fallen clematis leaves when I discovered this beauty had climbed out of the pond to dry out before flying off, hopefully to return to lay it's eggs next year.

    Would anybody be able to name this hairy caterpillar 🐛? Hopefully not one of those who can eat your garden alive 😂



    It’s hard to see on the pic but it seems to have little horns (or ears) and a short fluffy “tail”.
