Not sure if I've posted this one before, anyhoo..here is a Fly image

    image

  • Now there is a beast - fab photo Sheps - love the detail.

Thanks Liri, you are right, it could be the snail eggs but it was small, there again it could be slugs.  Either way I am sure some eagle eyed bird or frog will find them tasty!

Great fly close-up, Sheps. Congrats! May I ask what camera (and lens) you are using?

Hi all insects lovers. Long time not posted in this discussion. Not so many bugs around these days, but got those today in the garden.

  • Not so many insects here either - it is so sad to see their demise.  I love the shield bugs Papi Jo, one is lovely but to capture two on camera is so lucky, right place right time!

Thanks @Guernsey Donkey2 Not so lucky as you think, these little critters are quite busy copulating at the moment. Looking forward to the new-born ones, with a much more interesting array of colours than plain green. ;)

Great pictures everyone...great to see the Banded Dem, Jelly...they have the most amazing battles with other males when looking for a mate.

Must be wonderful to have them visiting your pond  B)
