Morning Forkers . Just popping in to wish chicky good luck for exam season. Fingers crossed for littlest chicklet's first one. Going through the same here, with my youngest, doing first A level exam today.
Mine'll be 45 this year ........ it's confusing isn't it ........ when we're still only 27
I'm up and on the sofa ... OH says we have sausages and fried onions for supper with crushed potatoes and peas .... my mind is focussing on the essentials
OH is keeping an eye on plants in pots etc, but the flattened perennials will have to keep an eye on themselves

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Have had a lie in today after a late night and a broken sleep. Just on second coffee to get me going on the painting. Cool and breezy but nothing like as windy as yesterday.
I hope you've all come thru your storms unscathed, find everything that's moved and that windswept plants recover well.
Busy - you sound like you have your hands and time full for the rest of the week. Hope all goes well for your strawberry tea.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Had a good day with oldest friend yesterday. We met on first day of secondary school after we were singled out for having no name tags in our clothes. We shall both be celebrating big 60 birthdays later this year. It was good to catch up with her and her family - even if the weather, Norfolk road closures with attendant confusing signage and a very rude pub landlord did their best to scupper our plans.
We are made of sterner stuff- we were not defeated in our efforts to have a good day!
Flippin' freezing last night - heating and thermal socks on when I got home. This morning there are lots of bits of ash tree scattered around and some sprawling perennials - but it's too unpleasant and windy to go outside and clear up. It will still be there tomorrow..
Hope you're all keeping safe.
Are you ok Fairy? Haven't seen you on here for a little although you might have snuck under my radar. I'm not always the best at reading back
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

A A Milne
LP, garden virtually unscathed apart from leaves and small branches from the trees.
I noticed Fairy has replied to questions on some threads so not blown off a hill.
Morning all.
Fell asleep after the alarm went off and woke up with the phone ringing.
Hubby: " DON'T ANSWER IT. IT'LL BE WORK ASKING YOU TO GO IN"
It was No 1 Daughter, so I said a dozy hello and we had a nice chat.
Hubby making breakfast then out to survey the damage.
Good luck to all with exams, med tests , strawberry teas etc. ( some sound more fun than others
)
