Hello everyone. Washing machine loaded and doing the work for me.
I sometimes think about my lovely old Mum, no electricity in our town early on, so wood to burn under the copper for hot water and a rippled wash board to rub the clothes on. She had a sort of wringer attached to the sink which was a beast to turn. Then carrying slightly dripping clothes out to the long line which was adjusted by a pole. No rotary clothes line with adjustable height for her nor a machine which did the lot. She'd be amazed if she saw how little is involved for me. She also cooked on a wood burning stove. Also, the ice man used to bring a big block of ice once a week for the ice box so that she could keep meat in there for short periods. No wonder so much fruit was preserved or made into jam.
it looks as though we might get a clear winter's day today. At least yesterday's southerly seems to have gone. It was freezing out there yesterday. The wind was coming straight from the snow fields.
Pat; I always think that if even for a week we had to go back to life like that people wouldn't be so intent on the need to kill bacteria and making houses sterile bubbles which is meant to be not helping matters with child allergies and germ resistance.
Clean is clean!
Today is a very special day in the world of the Clarington household... we're getting sofas!!

There's a big shiny thing in the sky this morning. No idea what it is. I seem to remember it from a very , very long time ago.
I have to say I'm feeling very sorry for Adele having to cancel her last two gigs and all those fans who were going to see her.
My niece went during the week and loved it.
Hubby helping in the garden today so we might get the last beds made in "the allotment". Mucho Excitemundo.

I ignore Best Before dates ... Use By dates need to be taken notice of ... but not without also using our intelligence and experience.
