Instead of freebies or discount for cuttings, see if you can organise a plant swap with tea in September when most tourists will have gone but regular locals will still be around and can get rid of spare plants form sowings, cutting and divisions. Set aside a table or two for plants and then let the customers order their tea and cake and pay for it.
Let Charlie run the plant tables, charge 1€ per plant or something token and then you can snaffle the best. Might be worth trying in May anyway when people have spare seedlings and divisions.
Glad that it's all coming together.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Morning, very early I know but I am house sitting for my friend and 3 dogs, 2 cats and the chickens all wake up (noisily) for breakfast at first light.
Beautiful garden to sit and have breakfast in, I would say calm and peaceful but the wildlife are extremely noisy, nice sound though.
Busy day today, catch you all later.

DD it all sounds so exciting. At this rate we'll ALL be getting our passports dusted off to come visit you armed with tea cups and bunting.
Enjoy the wildlife; it's a noise I never tire of. All I have is a worker in a digger. No idea what they're doing at the school next door but they're certainly grafting hard.
I had a strange experience this morning as I checked my bank account.
I've been paid
On time
With actual money instead of a cheque type I owe you a trudge into town
But worse is yet to come .. they've paid me too much!
Remember that three steps forward two steps back?!
I've got some really positive things to announce to the office this morning (amazing how a few carefully chosen words can move along something that's been stagnating for 7 months) but gosh do they add to my work load in the next few weeks. I'm glad to be making a difference, even though no one has actually laid out what my job is yet or what I'm meant to do (don't ask!) so all I will say is
Good morning peeps, rained all night here, lovely smell of damp ground. Picked the first of my sweet peas yesterday, walked into the sitting room this morning and wow the scent was beautiful, great start to the day. Meeting daughter in town later, I'm getting eyes tested, need new glasses, I am interested in what new frames we'll come to agree on......or not.
I've got a busy day tomorrow (22nd) - my birthday is to be celebrated with both my children and a grandson. Hubby is planning on making a cake as well as a large helping of Garlic Prawns for lunch plus a nice crisp salad. I'm still not sure if it's the shortest day or not. Sunrise today was 7.15 and sunset will be 4.56pm. I'm waiting for my app. To tell me tomorrow.
Downstairs and breakfasting on sofa ... OH has gone to work ... I've taken out the sideshoots of the tomatoes.
Wonky was born in April '76 .......... I was so grateful that I wasn't actually pregnant in the worst of the heat that summer, but caring for a newborn, trying to keep her cool and comfy, was trying. I was glad she wasn't my first!
However I have some lovely memories of that summer ... taking her out for a walk about 4 or 5 am and picking wild mushrooms which were very early that year ... also there were lots of outdoor events that summer ...... the wonderful Last Barsham Faire was held that year ... was anyone else in East Anglia back then and do you remember it?
