Much of the day has been spent clearing up after the cat, who has been comprehensively sick all over the house - poor little thing. We thought we'd improved her digestion by getting her hypo-allergenic, expensive cat food; she loves it, and had been better for a week, but clearly there's another problem. She's now asleep on the radiator shelf, so hopefully the worst is over... for the time being...
Anyway, it's been too cold for much gardening.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Joyce I hope you got sitting out, still breezy here and I have had to soak a lot of plants As I was planting my new delphiniums. soil was really dry down to about 2 ft! Our orchard which floods is cracking!
Pat, will certainly let you know
Hosta that looks really good, post planting photos please
Wonky I just adore the sound if a "lemon tree" courtyard must smell divine when the blossom starts
Hosta we get a lot of wrens nesting in the hedging of the parterres but they don't have eggs like that
have been really busy again but sadly have to admit one of the cordylines made it this year, ni idea why, the others are fine.
anyone got a suggestion for new plants in stone pots against a grey wall inside the porch? I will have to swap them over as one side gets sun and the other doesn't . I suppose I could start new palms
enjoy your Sat night everyone ?

lots more to go, but the soil is perfect for moving. Not too wet , not too dry.
I want to improve the view from the house so I'm clearing the bank back a bit.
Lovely idea Hosta ... some foxgloves would look good around that oak
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
tee hee, I've just been ripping them out as I'm clearing the bank.
I'm sure millions more will appear by next year.
I came across this nest. Which bird is so stupid as to build a nest at ground level?
Looks like a blackbird's nest. Usually low down, made of grasses and twigs, stuck togther with mud and lined with fine grasses.

Did you leave it in peace, Hosta?
Thanks for the PM, Joyce. I have replied.

Lily when I was a child my mum used to grow a lemon tree in the porch. Never got any lemons but the scent was lovely every time you entered the house.
Ooooh I never thought of that. How lovely!
