Morning all. No bangs or flashes during the night. Still a bit claggy out.  Is any of our Scottish forkers heading for gardening Scotland next weekend?

Good morning.  Bit of a broken night's sleep so alte on parade.  Woke up with a cramp at 2:30 and then kept awake by a "son et lumière" as a storm broke all around us.   Had to go and close the landing window.   Repeat performance an hour later and a cuddly Cosmos at 6am.

24C now which is 10C cooler than yesterday and we've had 8mm of rain so I'm off to do some sanding of furniture before the midday curfew on noisy machines and then this pm I can finish planting my new island bed.

Hope everyone has a lovely day.

although as Eddie Izzard (among others) has pointed out, the sort of plans that mice make is an interesting question....

    See original post

and Eddie is always right....those mice are right bandits once they club together.....image

Dove - if you'd come up here, you could have got in my new shower. We could have had a house swap and I could have planted a few things out for you image

Hi B'man - not for me next weekend, if the weather's more suitable I'll be venturing vertically image

No lightning here - just a lovely thunderstorm yesterday and a bit of rain on and offall day.  Supposed to stay dry today - I'm crossing fingers as it looks very gloomy and oppressive out there. Hope you get your sanding done Obelixx. I'd hoped to do a bit of outdoor painting, but I'm not sure if it's wise. The heavens will open if I dare get the lid off the tin....

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Hi SGL.  Hope you are well and life is looking a bit brighter.  Lots of hugs available here if needed.

FG - a bit of sanding done but have to be quiet now so I've got some sun cream on, been out to take a few photos and chat with some shrubs that will be moved in autumn.  I'll need ID help with one later when I load the photos but had to put camera on charge.   One of my new clems is not as advertised.   Says it's a Jackmanii Purpurea but turns out to be a very rich, dark violet colour.   It will be perfect for growing with my Malvern Hills rose.

I'm off to plant things.  Hope you get a hill somewhere FG.

Clari - when we bought our latest car we already had a Zafira with extra seats in the back for ferrying Possum and friends about.  I suggested an Astra estate would do nicely but OH took one look at the boot and said there wasn't enough room for Bonzo dog to sit on top of a case when we went on hols so we got another Zafira - very practical for carrying plants, especially clems with tall sticks, furniture, lots of bags of compost and the occasional dog.  We also sling a box on the roof rack and have a wee cool box fridge that plugs into the rear lighter socket for when we go shopping and buy fish or ice cream in hot weather or need a picnic keeping fresh.   There's even room for Possum when she's here - tho she's as likely to be the driver these days.

    Afternoon all.

Apart some a light overnight rainfall we have missed the thunderstorms.  Rain forecast for tomorrow so hope  the garden gets a good soak.

For the first time, OH was up prowling during the night. Inner porch and other doors open and two jackets lying in the bedroom plus kitchen light on.  I hadn't heard him getting up.

I have finally got round to putting the summer duvet on  after nights of flinging it back.

Dove, your OH is doing very well.image

Well, we had a surprise visit this morning from dear son image  who took photos and a video of his Mama with a zimmer image and then OH made crab salad baps for lunch.  Now he's out there in the garden - he's planted the runners and now he's planting the dwarf Borlottis ........ I'm not going out there to supervise 'cos I don't want him to think he's being supervised image

When we first got together (with a 19 year age gap) it  was just before I injured my knee for the first time and he took me to live at his sister's place while he house sat for the summer so I wasn't living on my own ....... as he says, at least he knew what he was taking on image

That was a good surprise to have - apart from the filming!.   I've had to reterat for a couple of hours.  We've gone form 74% humidity and 24C at 10am to 32C and 47% humidity.  Lovely to sit in as there's a breeze but too hot for planting.

OH is ironing sheets and duvet covers whilst watching golf - so much for his self declared day of rest.
