Clari, I told her we're having a smart meter installed next month so we can monitor it daily.
If she carries on taking the P, it'll go up again. I'm not paying for their laziness. I know they're young and it's their first place, but they really do need to learn.
.... and one of the most important lessons they can learn when they move out and play at being grown ups is that no one (other than their parents ) is going to subsidise them

Hubby was against tenants after he had some house sharing on an all in basis. One of them moved his girlfriend in and she was in all day, with the heating on full blast and the windows open.
Dove, take it easy. Have you had your calcium and vit D levels checked.? It sounds like a lot of break for a little slip.
Bad luck Dove, sounds like you are being taken care of though. I do hope it's not too painful. ?
I've had to take Marmalade, the cat to the vets today. I think there is a new cat on the block and a territorial fight is going on. Not sure what the other cat looked like but Marmie was in a sorry state. Now I am 88€ lighter and inclined to keep him locked in for a few nights. ?
B&B people can be inclined to take extra long showers and deep baths so I feel your pain Hosta!
Taking Charlie to the beach tomorrow, he's been off school since Wednesday, long Bank Holiday weekend here, started Thursday, so I'm making the most of it. Probab

Oops, probably last lot of free time for a while, I want to enjoy some special time with Charlie. He did say he think I love the new house more than him. I've explained the situation and he is ok, offering to help paint so not too put out. I think he is as excited as me really, just checking he's still my favourite. ? we're going to Arcachon, the biggest sand dune in Europe, looks impressive, I hope so. ?
Anyway, a Friday evening glass of wine on the go, it's been a good week. Enjoy the week end all of you, and Dove, feet up. ??

Just found your Chateau de Gateau thread DD. Congratulations.
Dove, Joyce's idea of a bag on the Zimmer frame is a good one. OH's auntie had one with lots of pockets.
Been to daughter 2 with my lovely mare Lena in the trailer. I'm lending her as I don't ride any more. Lena seemed to settle down OK, started tucking into the grass. There is a field of beef cows with babies and a bull next door, they were very excited. One cow seems to have taken a fancy to Lena and follows here from the other side of the fence. But the 2 horses here are neighing a lot, they want to know where she is.
Very hot today, 33°.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Fidget, it wasn't really a slip ...... I've had an unstable knee for over 20 years and sometimes if I 'swerve' without thinking it just gives way ... I can feel the bones move over each other
Yesterday as I turned around it just went and I dropped face first onto the ground, so my foot was wrenched right around onto the edge of a stepping stone as I fell It happens so quickly I don't even have time to put my arm out to save myself ... probably just as well or I'd break that as well.
I'm on a pretty high dose of levothyroxine, so I take 1200 mgm of calcium + Vitamin D a day.

Well you don't do things by half Dove. Hope you heal quickly. A good excuse for putting your feet up in the garden with a nice glass of something alcofrolic.
Have done a little bit in the garden today but it was so hot that I didn't overdo it. Still have a few pots to plant up before holidays but I think they will have to wait until Sunday. I'm off to a beer festival tomorrow to celebrate my birthday with First and Secondborn and the grandchildren.
Just watched Chris Beardshaw get the Peoples Choice Awards, so glad he won, it was richly deserved, a beautiful garden.

DOVE, I have just hosed a dry area of the garden and was extremely careful with 30m of hose.
Maybe Wonky will take you out one weekend
FAIRY I thought you might have headed up to Luss or Arrochar after work.
It looks as though most of the rain is going to be north of me tomorrow.
