Rained during the night and it is very dark and threatening at the moment. I managed to dig out an old, rotten rosemary just in time - took two days in all and used up all my energy. The ground was bone dry at about a foot down.
Pat, its my hands, but yes, Hubby does rub them for me to regain feeling going to have to go to the doctors for it though, all this being 27 you would think I'd be OK wouldn't you!
Pdoc, we worry about you too! Your lovely wife kindly let us know your doings! Please let her know that we are here to worry with her if you get any more wild ideas! but I'd keep my head down for a while if I were you!
Morning everyone! What a lot of chat to catch up with...
Could it be carpal tunnel probs, Wonky??
We appear to have had another small shower overnight. The veg seedlings, which I've been diligently watering every day from the water butt, have grown visibly since yesterday's showers. Why do they prefer water from the sky?
Fairy, perhaps the deer thought it was well enough hidden to escape detection. OH and I once got an enormous fright when walking through bracken in the south Lakes, and a red deer stag suddenly leapt up from about 6ft ahead of us...
The Malvern show is in such a lovely part of the world. Glad you enjoyed it, BL! Did you meet Beaus Mum?
I'm not sure Frances Tophill is the ideal presenter - she knows a lot, and is ok talking to camera about plants etc, but seemed very stiff when talking off the cuff to the Malvern exhibitor about his acers. I guess she's quite photogenic though!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Liri - it was just the fact that he didn't scoot immediately that was surprising. That's quite unusual. Nice though!
Ah - the skywater - we can never replicate that - no matter how hard we try
Doc - I'm just thinking that, while I wasn't a million miles away in real terms yesterday, I was more than that in terms of my life compared to those poor souls over there. We are more than lucky here - no matter how much we grump and moan about things. My biggest worry on that hill was whether it might rain, or how bad the traffic might be going home. I have nothing at all to complain about, and I'm eternally grateful for that. Bless you and all the others who do the same.
And enjoy being told what to do for a little while
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Frances is a lovely person, but I agree about her being a bit stiff ( the acers were amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaing ),and she really needs to wear more flattering trousers.
Not long up as it's my weekend off ,bit misty here today but planning a quite day as going out for curry and few drinks with friends tonight ??first to pack my wee lass off to granny fir the nite as my teen son didn't fancy babysitting tonight, his loss it save me ££ ??
Don't be too nice to me fairy [ oh go on then! ]. Those of us who do it, get at least as much back as we put in. Most of us who do this stuff are adrenaline junkies and the stuff we do, is just not available in the NHS.
I miss the hills so much, although still regularly to look at them and obtain so much vicarious pleasure from your accounts and photos.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team

Lovely Hosta! Certainly will, she will be ever so pleased! Thank you
Wonky, can Hubby give your neck and shoulders a gentle massage? It might help.

Wonky, carpal tunnel syndrome runs in Papa Womble's family ...
