That's The Rock 2.  Joyce. Have no fear , many other varieties are about the same size as yours.

Looking great Hosta. Mine are just little preliminary shoots at the moment. Shame about your sleep. You could have called doc for a chat  image

Not up a hill Dove - if only....forecast's a bit pants for the weekend too. Snowing on Saturday, wet on Sunday. Wanted to go back to Glen Nevis but those hills deserve a good day for the views. They're quite special.

    You're getting there Clari  image

Obelixx - I've looked at new batteries but they're about £100, although you can get a lookey-likey one for about £25. The problem is where the charger goes into the laptop. Bit of a pain. Will have to do something about it though - it's already switched off once just now! image

Never heard that word Joyce - mogar. Where does it come from?

Fairy - no idea where it originates but it's in common use in Ayrshire.  At home we said "in a burach" meaning the place was in such a mess you didn't know where to start with clearing it.  Not something common to posters on here image Well maybe to Obelixx with her kitchen renovations.

Not me!  Kitchen sorted.   However we do still have a bit of contents and furniture clear away but can't until the tiler has been to do the floor in the annex.  Mind you, if all goes well, we'llhave people bashing a hole in a wall in the back room so we can build a shower room and that will be messy.

Might have to borrow your phrase Joyce.

Me too please Joyce.  Definitely could be used to describe the living room today - OH is at home so I'd gently enquired if a little tidying might be on the cards so I could clean the floor.  He's now disappeared upstairs to do Something Important...

Mmm.  Now what could I do with scaffolding planks, Obelixx.  Maybe increasing the height of the raised beds would be useful, as the compost keeps trying to escape over the sides.

Clari, hope the knees subside soon.  Best wishes for the house and prospective job too.

Lovely hostas.  Have given up with them here - just too many slugs.  But who would have thought that something as juicy looking as a dicentra would be slug-proof...  image

Not many slugs here so far and I expect what there are came in our pots.  We do have snails tho and I take great pleasure in chucking them in the road for the cars to squish if the birds don't get them first.

I frightened Possum this afternoon.  Told her Cosmos had caught a snake and she started the whole squealy reaction before I could add that it turned out to be a hosepipe - helping me water the hosta bed and the pots still to go in there.   Ribs too sore today to do any digging so I've contented myself with potting up some nerines and byzantine gladioli and planting 90 red onion sets in cells.

Now to get clean for dance class.

I've managed to ease some trousers over my bruised knees to go and cut the lawn. Funny when I cut the lawn Reggie just lays there all relaxed but when his lordship does it there's barking and leaping and generally being a massive pest.

I need to clean the kitchen next. These days off are hard work!

That last house we bought was like that...I had to get an outdoor broom and brush some of the carpets before I hoovered them...image

I go back to work for a rest too, although it's now the busy season so there's no chance of a nap there image

Slugs have been far fewer this spring - cold dry weather has really helped. Marvellous! It's even reached double figures today and less windy than the last few days.

I have a couple of white Cobaea seeds germinated, so I'm looking forward to seeing those come on. New plant for me.

    Evening all.

Busy day for me because I've been out for most of it. Meeting in Périgueux this morning. Went to the GC on the way home to buy some more Dahlias because my stored ones had rotted and some tomato plants because mine didn't germinate and the ones that did collapsed when the GH was too hot. Took a friend to another friend's Easter chocolate sale this afternoon. Then sowed more broad beans and planted up the Dahlias in pots in the GH. Must have colour for open garden in July!

It was a lovely sunny day, but windy now. We had lunch in the garden for the first time this year.

Now going to read back to see what you've all been doing

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
