Sounds like a good day BL - you'll be ready to put your feet up image

Think I may have to put another layer on that cold frame tomorrow night as we have snow forecast. I looked it up to see what Liri could expect for her return trip and Oban is to have heavy snow for Monday night /Tuesday morning. Checked it for here and it seems it's going to be fairly widespread across the west. Should have waited till next weekend to do those seeds...image

Evening all,  Spent an hour or two in the garden today sorting out pots for sweet peas.  I shall miss David this year, he always used to tell me when to plant the sweet peas outimage  I shall have to dig out my diary from last year and check.

Had a lovely time with Merri and Mabel this afternoon.  I arrived at their house before they got back from a Gruffalo walk at their local country park.  Apparently when they pulled on the drive 3 year old Mabel shouted - let me out of this blasted car my Nanna's here- can't help thinking she is going to be a real handful.image

I'm having trouble stopping laughing at all the funny things on here. Loved the quiche one and Mabel's comment.  I've been sitting on the lounge all afternoon trying to read back. Do you realise I had to go back to page 43?  Anyway, I've caught up now.

Our son and his cat returned to Canberra yesterday and since then I've have been rather busy. Our son went loaded up with frozen goodies which will save him cooking for a while and also jars of dried herbs which he'd run out of. Tarragon, Parsley, Oregano, sage, chives, tomatoes, Thyme, etc. I spent several hours drying more Thyme on Saturday and again on Sunday to restock the cupboard.

our weather forecast this morning was 29c and rain, so I thought I might just manage one load of washing. There were only fluffy white clouds everywhere.

Then, about half an hour later, looked to the northeast and wondered if I'd made a mistake hanging the washing out.

I managed to get thevwashing in by about 2.30 and then out of nowhere, down came the rain. It's stopped now, but I'm glad I got it done.

Loved the Chuck Berry. Video. Also the lovely photos of plants. Wonky well done with the seat etc. I'm sure you'll get lots of use from it. Hope Liri has a calm ride back, but it doesn't sound promising. Thinking about the difficulties of getting the baby's passport. Must be a darn nuisance. I think in Australia, they travel on the Mother's passport, but not sure.

re kiwi fruit, (we used to call them Chinese Goosberries when I was young before the New Zealanders got their hands on them), the male vine will need lots of pruning - very vigorous, while a female vine is much more sedate. That might help your Hubby decide which one he has Obelixx.

Re various Clematis, you might like to Google the Australian native varieties if you fancy small flowers. They might be available in the UK, you never know. We have one variety here that I found down near the river some years ago and I transplanted one of the small ones. It still flowers every year.

    C. aristata  the one here, but the other one I'm thinking about is C. microphylla. I suspect they can be a bit frost sensitive, but the one here where we get snow in winter hibernates in winter and reemerges when it's warmer. I've seen both growing in the Australian National Botanic Gardens in Canberra.image

    Morning lovely peepsimage

Work medical this afternoon, so porridge now, but then fasting til 2pm.  Work and drinking water .....not a happy combo image

Quince now firmly anchored in the ground image Plus lots of stuff cut back and a few other plants in their final positions.  Trying to find a source of large quantities of green waste for mulching.  Have tried googling and can only find places charging £100 for a builders bags worth.  Have emailed local council.  Does anyone else have tips on how I could get a truck's worth delivered without a second mortgage?

Good morning Chickyimage - wot no coffee?! Re mulch - Hosta has an arrangement with a local tree surgeon who delivers chippings by the lorry load - free.

Loud thunder as well, Dove. I'm expecting to need to find the candles soon.
