We get birches, in particular, covered in lichen in glens, and lots of rocks - even higher up. I always take time to look at it. It's really beautiful.

Beautiful lichens. I find the fact that they are not actually plants quite mind-blowing. They are an indicator of pollution levels as they won't thrive in polluted air (learnt this from my tree surgeon last month).

This one was taken on Beinn a Ghlo at around 2,500 feet. Rocks are often covered in it. I had a snack sitting beside it that day if I remember.
