Have a lovely day with poppet SGLimage

I don't really think anybody is deliberately ignored on this thread - but it can seem a bit like that sometimes - we probably all feel the same occasionally.

Some people are in a hurry and just post without reading back and so don't comment on previous posts - and sometimes there are 'conversations' going on between 2 or 3 members which results in other postings 'getting lost'.

Who could possibly ever want to ignore you SGL!?! Enjoy Nana duty and the brief peace whilst poppet snoozes! image

I like to think this is a group chat image we all but in and add our bit and its richer for it image

Topbird, totally sympathise! Being ill is boring! But the good thing is that boredom is the first sign of recovery! Chocolate in bath should do the trick! image

Oh heck Topbird image I'd get my book soggy if I read one in the bath lol.

I agree sometimes there's a 'conversation' going.  But when you answer or comment and get blanked by the same people all the time it's a bit noticeable.

Thank you Wonks and TB I love my Nanna days. And little poppet has just woken up. ........I can hear her la la la la singing to teddy image Will go and get my little playmate.

Possum used to wake up singing in the mornings, or at least chirrupping, but afternoon sleeps as she got older would often find her a bit grumpy for the first 10 mins or so after wakening up feeling groggy.

2 leccy men here now and 2 plasterer types.  It never rains but it pours.....  in a nice way.   All happily gossiping away to  each other.

Pesky terracotta chalky paint has come up streaky on the feature end wall and will need a third coat. 3 walls still needing a second and possibly third coat and one wall not even started cos I need the left over terracotta to mix a pale shade for that - and yes, it's an L shape room.

Can we have paint free stone, driftwood or woven bamboo+banana leaf walls on our island?

I am not a nice person in the morning - more of a horrid grumpy old cow.

La la singing on waking has almost certainly never been part of my make up - OH would want to know what I'd been taking if I started now! I suspect that at Poppet's age I would more likely have thrown teddy out of my cot and shouted at him for waking me up.image

OH is under strict instructions to only wake me for 2 things - snow or kittens - preferably together to get it over withimage

SG Lily, I'm sorry you've felt ignored sometimes, I'm sure it wasn't meant. The trouble with forums is that sometimes people just want to say things and get them off their chests without really looking at others' posts. I've sometimes felt ignored, not just talking about this thread, but it's all part of posting on a forum. And sometimes people can't think of something to say so they just switch it off and look at another thread. And I've been guilty of that too.image I always liked your posts and missed you when you didn't post so much. Generally I find this thread very friendly.

Hello folks - I'm back ... and on my own laptop which Wonky's Lovely Hub has given a good sort out - he's a complete STAR!!!  image  Problem is some things ... in fact quite a few things ... are different ... I'll find my way around it all I'm sure, but in the meantime you'll all have to be patient with the ... at least I won't be struggling to post on my phone ... if I've ignored you SGL I can only apologise and blame the difficulties of posting on my very old iPhone ... I love it but it struggles with messageboards image

Wonky, please give your Lovely Hub a very big ((hug)) from his grateful MIL xxx

By the way folks - spring is definitely here - I saw the loveliest and very special thing - a group of 'March hares' boxing in a wheatfield in the sunshine image

Hi SGL!  I'm sure nobody intended to ignore you - but with so many people posting on this thread, it's difficult to comment on everybody's posts.  I know I'm guilty of sometimes replying only to the most recent posts before mine, cos it's really hard to remember what everyone has said.  I blame being 27 (again)...  image  ...but will try to do better in future.

BL, I do hope you manage to get away to Norfolk soon.  So frustrating to be in other peoples' hands here.

Obelixx, glad you're getting the painting done.  It'll be lovely when you can get into the garden again!

    Topbird, easy does it...

Dove, great that your laptop is feeling happier.  Hope you find your way around it soon.  Now what you need is a ten year old to say "You just press this, and then that, and there it is!"

Forgot to report, re yesterday's pruning marathon around the medical centre:  I was surprised to find myself as Exhibit A.  A party of 39 A-level geography students from Guernsey were visiting the town on a field trip, and being shown round the "Incredible Edible" sites (something to do with urban regeneration and community involvement, I think).  It was a relief when they went away, to be honest!

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
