Some of my favourite B&Bs are run by gay men. There's a lovely one in Stoke by Nayland, one with lovely breakfasts in Probus near Truro and a comfortable one with a pretty garden in Sandy Park near Chagford. The men were so welcoming and nice, lots of extra little touches to make you feel welcome.

I can't read that link, Dove. A  window comes up saying security alert, then it asks for my email.

Maybe 'cos you're in France BL - it is just one of several 'fake London Tube notices' that are being put up  on the internet to inspire and encourage us and cock a snook at anyone with evil intent towards London.

    It says:

"All terrorists are politely reminded that THIS IS LONDON and whatever you do to us we will drink tea and jolly well carry on."

    Great stuff.  image

Reminds me of those photos which appeared in the wartime press, of white-coated milkmen cheerily delivering bottles to smiling housewives in bombed houses.  I believe they were set up, but had the desired effect of keeping up morale in London, and irritating the Germans...

I could read it.  Saw on the news while having a coffee after the SM shop that they've arrested a man in Antwerp for attempting to mow down a crowd.     Copy cat?  Co-ordinated but got his timing wrong for yesterday?

Pleased with SM tho.  I bought some Fiskars loppers with parrot blades and extendable handles in late Jan/early Feb and had to take them back today cos one of the handles ended up in two pieces.  No quibbles.  Found our purchase in tehir records and offered us money back or a swap as they had no more in stock.  Went to see what they had and found their last pair on the wrong hooks.  Brilliant.

Thence to DIY shop for noxious goodies for prepping furniture.  No methanol.  Never heard of it.  Really?

Home to find kitchen units all now mounted and now awaiting adjustments to doors, fitting of handles, shelves and kicking boards and a good clean before he installs the oven and dishwasher.  With any luck the work top will be delivered tomorrow pm or Monday am and then it's all go for the sink and hob and I'll be in business.

We will require photographic evidence of the new kitchen of course....image

When reading Dove and Hosta's posts re the public yesterday, I just thought - there's the full spectrum of the human race right there. I know which ones I'd hope me and my girls would be.

I enjoyed your link Dove. True British spirit  image

Apologies for not being around to return the 'good mornings' from some of you. Thought I'd better shift my butt and go. I often get caught up here and don't see  the clock. Not good....image

Chilly wind here, but still dry. The forecast is looking very promising for the weekend and some snowy hills. Nice little chicken roasting for dinner image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
