I had been wondering if the Kew trip was still a goer :-).
Not very far for me, as the crow flies, but getting from my bit of London to that bit of London can take ages - some of you will probably get there more quickly than me travelling many times the distance!
Working today, just popping in while the kettle boils and then I'll be back to the coalface.
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
Afternoon all, It's a lovely sunny day here. I've sown seeds in my new propogator Agastache Globetrotter, Lupin Fairy, Aubretia Royal Mixed and Aquilegia Nora Barlow.
When I went to Ashwoods they had mowed the lawn so if it's good enough for John Massey it's good enough for me. Back lawn mowed today and both lawns edged. The garden looks much better. I checked in my gardening diaries and for the last two years the lawns have been mowed round about 5th March. Seems more moss in the lawn this year, not suprising with all the rain we have had.
We were going to Norfolk on Thursday. Our house sitter sent an email this morning to say he is stuck in England until Saturday because his flight today has been cancelled because of the air traffic controllers' strike. We don't know if our flight will be cancelled too. Even if it isn't I need to find someone to feed the horses and my cat.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good afternoon all. Power cuts since early this morning all over our end of the Vendée and a lot of Charente-Maritime so sympathies for yesterday Busy. Winds have calmed down now and we have gentle rain. Fine by me as I'm indoors painting anyway - now that I can see in the north facing kitchen.
On the up side, internet is back ahead of schedule. Feels so odd to be offline and powerless so the island will need some solar panels please.
I find the Ignore button is a good feature to have. Saves a lot of bother.
Leccy man due this pm to do the sockets and switches in the annex and then plaster board man can come and do the skim and then I can paint it at the weekend. I will then need time off in the garden or i'll get very twitchy.
Enjoy the sunshine, those who have it.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

It is lovely out there - quite mild and very sunny. Birds are all a twitter and saw the first bumble bee of the season
Probably a mistake to try to do too much today. Thought I'd move a small shrub - started digging the hole for it to go into and came over all peculiar - very dizzy - not great
Had a sit down with the cat to recover and then did a bit of weeding and pruning, tidied some pots away and cleared & weeded the raised bed which I use for herbs. Not a lot - but probably enough. Time for lunch - then a bath and a sit down by the fire.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
It was a mistake, Topbird. If you aren't well you should be resting or you will be slower to recover. Can't the garden wait a week? Now is the time to pamper yourself.

Glad to hear you've both got power back - heard about those winds on the news or weather last night - sounded as bad as (if not worse than) Doris - and that was pretty awful.
Hope things get sorted for you BL. The ATC's do seem to be targeting your trips to & from Norfolk don't they? Not an easy alternative form of travel for you is there? Flying from somewhere like Bilbao or Barcelona would probably be closer than driving to the Chunnel but still not that close for you. How annoying.

Just popping in to say I didn't see 'that' thread last night either, so have no idea what the unpleasantness was all about. What a shame that things like that happen on this forum. It's usually such a friendly place.
I don't post so much on this thread any more because I felt I was being ignored at times.
On Nanna duty today, poppet having a few zzzzzz at the moment.

Just popped in for lunch.
Good morning playing in the garden, felt fairly Spring like, although having said that, we will probably get a foot of snow.

Off for a browse see you all later.
Afternoon all. I've been at a committee meeting.
Raining here, but at least the wind has stopped.

Find it hard to sit and twiddle my thumbs when the sun's shining BL - I do try to keep my sensible head on though
Bar of Galaxy in the bath to restore my blood sugar levels I think - is that pampering enough?
