Morning all/afties Pat if you're about image

I can help offload those fish pies Clari....image

Dry and grey here, but mild - four degrees when I fed the birds Just as well, as I forgot to put the radiator back on in the  bedroom image

Been a very dry winter here too T'bird. Hope it continues for a while, although a dryish summer would be nice.

I'm off for a quick look round before I go. Have a good day everyone image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Morning folks, evening Pat,

Topbird, drizzle here too...I'd even made a list! image jobs to do in the garden! image most annoying! Its really dark, gloomy and wet. Flatters has already popped his head in the window and requested breakfast indoors, followed by a lounging bath and a snooze!

Well done on saying No to scouts Clari! image now you can get on with garden design! After you have sent a fishpie to everyone on the forum! image

Don't think our valentines was as romantic as your Beaus Mum, what a grand gift! image

We exchanged cards, had moussaka and a couple of drinks by a log fire in the basement and watched that old classic film for couples.....Tarrentinos-True Romance. Over twenty years old and still incredible! What a cast! What a film!......not a girly romantic chickflick but its our version of romance!

Morning Dove, glad you got in the garden yesterday, don't overdo it at tennis!

    Have a great day all!

Saw BM's sentry box on another thread - it looks lovelyimage My sort of present - attractive but practicalimage

Your evening sounded lovely Wonky. Nothing nicer than curling up with a loved one to watch a good movie. We watched both episodes of The Moorside which was far from romantic! Very well done with some excellent acting. There have been comments about the authenticity of the accents - but looking back at original interviews with the main characters they did a very job replicating how they looked & spoke.

Have an urge to make fish pie now  - I may not fight it. Forgot to say - Well Done saying 'No' to the scouts Clari. Easy enough to take on more in a few months if you want to.

Enjoy tennis Dove - hope you get on better than last timeimage

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

    Morning all.

    Clari, lovely shiny helmet.

Fairy. I used to love Joan Armatrading. I saw her live about 9 times. I once looked after the garden of her next door neighbour and , after a mishap with the bin lorry, laid some turf in Joan's garden. I met her several times . Lovely lady, very understated and humble.

I have to say ladies, and you're all going to shout " SEXIST" but I didn't serve one single lady buying a Valentines gift yesterday. ( I know you're all going to say they bought in advance ) Lots of grumpy ,and slightly guilty looking guys though. tee hee.

One very good looking young man bought some pink bubbly " Oh, that's very classy I said" he looked really grumpy. " I'm not sensing much enthusiasm for the whole thing Sir  , if I  may say so"

"She sent me a text reminding me. Doesn't she know I'm in the middle of lambing? "  2 other guys said the same.

Funniest one was a chap who had a single rose and a Mars bar. " that's nothing to do with me ( pointing at the rose ) that's his " pointing at a particularly gangly young man of about 15 or so.

" Don't be so mean to the young man" and to his son " You carry on young man, and don't let him knock it out of you"  As they left I said to him " good luck young man, I hope it works" He blushed.... Bless.

Hideous night last night. Still awake at 2.30am ggrrr.

It's been raining overnight here but seems to have passed over now.

    Devon.
  • Morning all.

Our rain isn't due to arrive until 1pm so I'll get some pruning done this morning, hopefully.

We had fish pie for yesterday's lunch.  image  I used some sort of white fish (basa, maybe?) with some salmon, and a little bit of smoked haddock.  And hard boiled eggs.  And plenty of parsley, with creamy mash topped with grated cheese... bother, we finished it.  Would have liked some more today!  image

Anyone know why the detergent dispensing drawers of washing machines get so disgusting?  After all, the only thing you put in there is detergent, which ought to keep it clean.  image  Not a good design for cleaning either, with a siphon (for fabric softener) which needs 2 different sizes of bottle brush to clean properly, and lots of nooks and crannies to harbour black gunge...  image
