Are you ready for those heart strings to be tugged?
Today's school had a young child who was recently adopted. The circumstances do not sound ideal but we've no need to share those.
Understandably you will understand that the school were a little nervous of taking said child to a museum where
1. their old school might also be visiting
2. contains police cars (for reasons that are perfectly clear when you know the story)
Being human once the situation was explained I offered to block book the museum (I.e. no other groups could visit on the same day) and pop our most modern police car in the back car park out of the way. A simple three minute jobbie that is hardly breaking a sweat to accommodate the group. Yes we might loose out on a bit of (much needed) income but in the long run could you really go about knowing that otherwise the child would have been left while their entire class went out for the day presumably either to spend the day in a strange class or worse on their own?
Anyway we had an awesome day. And then the teacher gave me this...
A parent shouldn't have to feel the need to thank me for being a decent human but isn't it lovely that she did?
.... and how lovely to receive such heartfelt thanks .... and how lovely you are to have understood and taken the time and trouble to give him an experience he could enjoy. You really are a bit special ((hugs)) x
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Quite so Clari. The human race makes me despair sometimes, but it gives you hope when there are still people who appreciate those small things
Been a decent day here after another chilly start. Pity I had to work. Looking more promising for the weekend for walking too. Hurrah!
Glad you enjoyed that prog Liri - it was very good. I might try and catch it again. There was also one done (before it I think ) on the Cairngorms that Ewan McGregor narrated. Very similar to that one.
Slightly concerned about Obelixx planting Bishops....and as for After Eights - I usually just eat those...
Hope Joyce and doc are feeling a bit perkier and not in too much pain, and Dove hasn't got too much sleet. Wonks you'll be warm enough when you get your new jumper
I've forgotten everything else now
Roast beef in the oven. Daughter has made up the mix for Yorkshire puds too.
Good job there was a couple of eggs left....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Whoops! Misread that - thought you said you'd been having it off since before 8! One way to keep warm I suppose

At first I thought Obelixx was inviting Bishops for tea and they were going to eat After Eights
Well done, Clari, and it's good that you were thanked.
