There's a phrase you don't hear very often - if at all!
Those Waitrose customers won't be happy if there's no iceberg, or is that too downmarket for them? In any case, hope there's plenty of Prosecco in stock to placate them
Congrats on your year. Doesn't seem that long , although I expect it did for you!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I expect the visible effect of abstaining has helped too Hosta. It's brilliant anyway
Are we creating a ridiculous nation of people nowadays who are like precocious four year olds? Foot stamping becasue they can't get what they want? It reminds me of that bloke with the turkey you saw at Christmas, having a hissy fit. What's more rididculous is the headline news it all becomes. On Friday, a lovely young man died of MND at the age of 31. He campaigned endlessly to get publicicty - even uniting leaders of all the political parties - and raising lots of money for the cause. An articulate, humble, gracious person, who did what he could to help others even when his own life was being cut short. It didn't even get a mention on the national news, only up here. Not a big enough, knee jerk, headline grabbing story obviously

Our posts crossed there Dove. Didn't hear anything about Nevis - but no doubt some tw*t was on it getting rescued!
The sleety snow is more rain now, but it's an unpleasant sky and still just clinging to the right side of zero. There was a hopeful robin singing in the dark when I got back at seven from taking daughter to work. Birds are great aren't they - so optimistic!

Fairy, those Zucchini are mild flavoured and a bit creamy in texture. We steam our vegs, but those ones can be chopped up raw in salads as well.. Very nice.
They sound good Pat. My sister used to grow courgettes, but as is always the case, she had so many and had to eat them with everything, and I think it put her off them for life!
You're right enough Dove- three rescued from Nevis. The snow's not consolidated properly this year because of the strange weather patterns, so it makes it more hit and miss. They were on one of the north side gullies though, so must have been climbers. They're all bonkers

You're right there Fairy - bonkers! A Scottish friends brother climbs - Everest, Mont Blanc, you name it and he's on top of it or dangling off it ... A 16hh horse is high for me!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I heard the story of the young man who died after tireless campaigning Fairy - there were clips of him addressing Nicola Sturgeon in the Scottish Parlt on the R4 evening news programme. Very sad, but also inspiring. Had also not heard about lettuces ....so maybe radionews is the way to go. Still can't avoid POTUS though
Exhausted after yesterdays escapades, and feeling slightly miserable. Think its beginning to hit me that another Chicklet will be flying the nest soon. So a trip to Wisley is planned for a fix of snowdrops, winter stems and maybe even some hellebores.

Fairy, to be honest. I've not missed it one bit. Birthdays, christmas, holidays etc. I've just not even been tempted. Nobody is more surprised than I.
I think the only person I've served a lot of iceberg to ( when it's been reduced ) was a customer who feeds it to her geese.
Good morning all
Just waking here.
That sounds a bit of a grim time Pat - glad all is ok now ((hugs))
Hosta - well done on the anniversary - it's really worked for you hasn't it
What's it like your way Fairy? Did I hear something about problems on Ben Nevis last night, or was I dreaming?
