Thanks Daisy and Dove and others who have offered support. I really appreciate your good wishes. We're OK. We need to get on with our lives but it's good to remember those that have gone ahead of us. We have photos all round the house of our three kids in various stages of their lives, especially of Susan when she delivered her son. A very special moment for her.
Im glad you're enjoying the jigsaws Daisy. I love having them on the iPad when I feel like a little distraction.
Love Annie Lennox, Fairy,
The forcast three days of rain was a disappointment, even though it was nice to have some cool weather for a change after our weeks of 30's.
Floppy day here. Possum threw a major pout yesterday. Finally surfaced from bed and shower - but not dressed to go out - at 1:30pm and then had a bout of pouting when we said we were not prepared to schlepp up to Nantes for half a day. Did not like the idea of a video project in one of the local fishing villages. Too boring. Eventually decided to go to the SM in Olonne for more mangoes to rescue the volcanic chutney and she cam etoo. Being a bit naughty, I took the scenic coastal route and out came the camera. Snap happy.
Shopping done we did a tour by car and on foot of the yacht basin (Vendée Globe still going on for late returners) and the port and the lighthouses and the beach with loons swimming and the pedestrian shopping streets etc et and finished with sunset from the yacht basin at Bourgenay. A very good excursion for exploring and filming. I have not yet said "Told you so".
Unfortunately, whilst filming in the shopping streets her eye alighted on a specialty macaron and choc shop and she tripped over an unseen kerb. Ankle sprain. Lots of TLC and rest and therapeutic kitten cuddling so she'll be fit for Nantes tomorrow.
Bit grey and mis here with some drizzle but set to clear up. I'm going to try and make a cherry meringue tart in the combi oven, oil my beech worktop again (very thirsty) and finish that chutney. Slow roast belly pork for dinner and sowing broad beans and sweet peas if I have time. By the time they germinate I should have a safe space outside for them under cloches..
I hope your weather is fit for your plans for today and if not, hope you can stay tucked up and warm and well. Hugs to all who need a bit of comfort for sorrows or lurgies.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Went to a quiz night last night to support one of my oldest friend's son, who is fund raising for a trip to Ecuador this summer. Really good fun, but an hour away, so made for a late night. Bacon and egg butty about to be eaten, then its out there for some pruning ✂️✂️✂️
Forget whisky, shortbread and Billy Connolly, Pat - she's our greatest export
I added a couple more pix for the jigsaws
Yeh - yellow warnings for wind ( 40/50 mph ) here Joyce. It's not the greatest today. 60/70 mph on the hills so I decided not to bother. The lashing rain lower down and heavy snow higher up was also an issue
There'll still be some tw*t up Nevis no doubt...
I've been cleaning instead
Don't get the magazine AuntyRach. What did I say? Nothing libellous I hope.....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Glad you turned it round for Possum Obxx .......I always find "i told you so " works better in my head too -its satisfying, but without accompanying fireworks
Thanks for the sweetpea sowing reminder - must get mine done today too
Think you deserve a medal for patience and tact Obelixx. Not sure I wouldn't have lost the plot...
I've been looking at my seeds to see what's what chicky. I'll wait a bit for my sweet peas, unless I can be bothered rigging up a temporary cold frame to keep the lovely weather off them. Just to feel I'm doing something! I have lots of other things to sow too - including some things I wouldn't normally do. Daughter brought some seeds home the other day for me too - the spinach and lettuce isn't a problem, but now I have to make the effort to find somewhere to grow great big carrots...
