I went to sleep in the spare room as OH was making noise in the basement beneath our room.....woke surrounded by cats, Harrie the housecat is usual but I'd forgotten to put Flatters outside.....he's OK with it and has demanded breakfast and gone back to sleep!
I've got to get up as Dove is visiting today safe travels Dove x
I've just read that the Chelsea flower show has had its amount of show gardens cut in half due to lack of sponsors!!!!!
Yes, I've been thinking of Bushman - hope he can feel all the positive vibes ((hugs))
DD posted a few days ago didn't she? She seemed ok-ish and full of plans - she spoke about getting ready for the marathon ... ((hugs)) DD if you pop in.
Wonky - make space on the bookshelves - a stack of GW and The Garden mags are in the car boot for you
Just one more coffee then I'll set off ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Oh no Not liking Wonky's news of a slimmed down Chelsea - this year is the first time ever I have bought a full day ticket Got fed up of only ever making it half way round the floral marquee - so hope that is not slimmed down too.
Many thanks to Steephill for the nudge about the South Downs programme - found it on iPlayer last night. Had great fun playing i-Spy on places we have walked recently. And I now know where SH's name comes from
Thanks for all your lovely comments about Chicklets adventure in Oz .....still so excited for her that I have not let myself really think about what having her soooo far away will be like.
Been a manic week at work, so am going to have a quiet weekend to recover. Will venture out in my garden with the secateurs tomorrow - watch out clems & roses . Oh - and 6/7 propagator trays are showing little green shoots ????????
And Lesley, if you're reading, .....come back soon
I've just spoken to Wonky - I think the idea re Chelsea is that there's going to be more opportunities for the less well known designers and nurseries. She's going to try to find the article again and post a link.

I spoke to DD on the phone fairly recently. She was waiting for the final paper for her business plan for the bank, but the person concerned had gone on holiday.
It will be a shame if Chelsea is slimmed down.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
It could be a golden opportunity for some designers. Remember the year of the crash when smaller people got in and James May did a plasticine garden? I doubt it will affact the floral pavilion as that's mostly nurseries displaying their own stock and well deserving of a thorough browse.
Bright and sunny here but fresh. Up late today as Possum didn't land till 1:30. OH is out walking the dogs and then we'll all go and explore the coats and a fishing port for Possum's video project and lunch.

You won't believe this, but we've turned the air con to heat! We're both cold. There has been a prediction of rain from Friday until Monday, but apart from full-on cloud , no wet stuff. Crazy season! How is your weather Glenys?
I'Ve been trying to keep positive and cheerful today because it would have been Susan's 54th birthday if she had survived the ovarian cancer. Anyway, I did manage to keep cheerful and busy.

Chicky here is the link to the article. Looks like they will make up for it with more smaller gardens. That maybe nicer!
have a lovely weekend.
Dove, i can always use more GW issues!
not sure they will make it to the bookcase...more likely on the kitchen table close at hand!
Dove
Hmm - I won't miss Dairmuid Gavin - never liked his gardens.
