Think the snow is staying north - so you should be ok
The covers don't stand up to the weather unfortunately. I'm debating whether to get something half decent, or make something myself. Probably won't grow tomatoes this year - no use unless I have protection for them.
Trees down are such a problem in wild weather - difficult for services to get to them when it happens if there's no other routes in. Hope you're alright, T'bird. Lots of trees round here, but there hasn't been many down this year. One round the corner a while ago, but was fortunately just beyond a side road so only a tiny detour to get back round.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Flippin' wind keeps rocking the car and triggering the alarm I'm sure most people understand there's nothing I can do but I'm very aware that our very elderly neighbour sleeps downstairs at the front of the house and is alone once his carer has tucked him in for the night. It's probably very annoying for him. Still, he once drove from the South Cape to the north coast of Africa
so he's probably put up with worse things than an annoying car alarm.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Fairy, I've figured out whose fault this storm is! Its Lidls fault! Keep with me....I'll explain. The plastic greenhouse thing came from lidl last year. £40 quid and way bigger and better than Argos. Anyhoo.... The storm has trashed my cover and it just so happens that lidl are selling those exact same greenhouse thingys next week....they are trying to get me to buy another aren't they! well I won't!
OH has promised to build me a green house from pallets and perspex sheeting but as he doesn't go outside often except to go to work, can't see it happening anytime soon
Iain you're a star! It's a Renault megane so only has a 'hidden key' and 'hidden keyhole' which I've never had to use, but what you said reminded me and I've checked the handbook and know what to do - fortunately all has been quiet since I posted last - hopefully Doris has worn herself out now ...

Wonky - you're a practical, hands-on woman. Build one yourself. It'll be quicker.
I'm shattered again. Painting and sanding and oiling and cleaning and moving stuff about is cumulatively knackering. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.
I hope Doris has now worn herself out too and everyone is safe.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Going to garden club meeting tonight , the subject is propergation , looking forward to it
Dove,
Try locking car with key & don't use remote. It wont set the alarm -worth the risk for one night unless you are in a very high crime area!

Storm finally blew itself out.
Stream a raging torrent and some more greenhouse damage, door has disappeared, probably gone over the orchard wall and into the field.
Could be much worse.
Hope you are all well.
