wet and windy all day, so have been studying, think I might finally be getting used to concentrating again, al
Sorry you are not well, as your doctor I would recommend a medicinal brandy.
I know where you are at LP. Tomorrow will be better.
Yes we are serious Fg. OH still feels Scottish, even though she has not lived there since she was 5, and I am never happier than when I am up there, so who knows?
JKR came up with a whole load of brilliant replies to the malicious tweets she received, intelligence and wit defeating ignorant morons, lovely to see.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
As for Scotland, I'd have thought north-east would be perishing with all those North Sea and Arctic blasts whereas the north west would benefit from the Gulf Stream but be wetter. Midges either way.
I had a clump of broad leaved snowdrops that always came out in November and were taller than the ones I had elsewhere in the garden. I'm quite happy with my little flock of ordinary ones in their pots. Just need to find a good place to plant them permanently.
Chappy who came to see about building a shower room and finishing off the extension for us got very excited when he saw my Rangemaster lurking in the annex. "Oooh, you have a piano!" So I said no, it's a real cooker. Discussion about terminology followed. Apparently in French French, tiles on walls are faience and tiles on floors are carrelage. In Belgium, faience is earthenware pots and a tile is a tile is carrelage except when it's a tuile cos it's on the roof. So much to learn..
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
I knew what he meant about the piano Busy but I think of my Rangemaster as the real cooker compared to the gassy disaster currently plumbed in. Odd about the regional variations for tiles.
No rain here. We have fuzzy stars so the air is moist but not precipitating.
Haven't seen that film. Off to bed now.
Sweet dreams all.

Not seen that film either but I heard it was brilliant. Not a cinema visitor though, so I'll have to wait till it's on TV
Lots of pots and all sorts of things blown around the garden after the weather last night, so I'll have to do a quick run round gathering before I head out. It's a bit calmer now and hopefully no damage. It'll have to wait till I come back from work anyway.
Hope you're a bit chirpier today Dove.
Gairloch for you eventually perhaps, doc?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
The calm between the storms here. Quiet last night , but another one due to roll through later.
I haven't lived in Scotland since 1984 but I will never be anything other than Scottish. I have to confess , I couldn't go back and live there. I'm too much of a softy and the long winter nights wouldn't agree with me ( punkdoc?? )

Not in Dordogne! Faience tiles are earthenware, carrelage is on the walls and dallage is on the floors. Tuiles are the same, on the roof.
A piano is a range cooker.
Bedtime, nighties.
The rain is tipping down.
Has anyone seen the movie I Daniel Blake.
Watched it tonight and it made me cry. It is a Ken Loach film.
