Morning all.   Sunny bits and cloudy bits and 7C here so I can safely put the Xmas tree outside.  It's rooted so I hope will grow.

Minstrel may have stopped singing but she's gone grumpy.  Sits on their sheepskin growling for no reason and then rolls around on the rug pulling herself along by her claws.  Very odd.  It passes tho and then we get to hephalumps stampeding upstairs which reminds me, I loved that colourful knitted one.  Didn't get any knitting done last night as Cosmos was helping.

Made a double ration of chilli jam yesterday only to find I haven't enough jars - perils of moving - so I need to go out and buy some and then have a serious talk with OH about our kitchen.  He avoided it all weekend by being "busy".

    When do you leave Pd?

Stay safe and warm everyone, especially the sickies and the healing and anyone trying to get around London today.

    Good morning all, hi Patimage

Wishing all those under the weather or in pain a speedy recovery,  it sounds really horribleimage.  Lizzie although you were looking forward to your break at the cottage you will enjoy it much more when you feel fully fit.  M&S vouchers last for agesimage.

LilyP it's a relief for you to be going to a warmer place after allimage.  Certainly not as warm as Pdoc is going to get thoughimage.   The wind and rain kept me awake for ages last night and it was more of a paddle than a walk with the dog this morning.

Fidget I hope you find your ideal bungalow very soon and can begin your new garden adventureimage.

Hope all have a good day if at all possible and that time passes quickly for the workersimage

    Good morning all!

Very best wishes again to the virus sufferers. Hope you turn the corner soon and start feeling better.

Re viburnum - mine is V.fragrans, the upright-growing winter flowerer, and that too is doing well this year -started early and is now loaded with pink.  image

Off to Burnley, in the rain, to get the computer fixed.  I hope...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

On sofa with hot bllackcurrant and soluble anadin. OH and I had a count back - it must be at least seven years since I had a really incapacitating lurgy - I think being in and out of schools etc when I was working kept my immune system firing on all cylinders. Now I'm retired I don't get exposed to as many germs.

Now I shall shut up for a while about the lurgy image

Morning all. I think, fingers crossed, that I'm out the other side... still coughing a bit, still tiring easily, but the idea of (for instance) putting some clean clothes away or hoovering a rug doesn't make me want to curl up in bed any more. We even went out for lunch yesterday and only coughed a bit and could taste everything  (fab, newish, Indian street food place round the corner - been meaning to try it since it opened in April and will be going again asap). So to all those still struck down - it does, eventually, end. 2 days terrible, 7 days awful, a couple more a bit better, today = good.

BL How long are you in the UK? Hope you have time to take it easy and continue your recovery and still enjoy your time here.

Dove It sounds like you've got it really bad - hope you turn the corner soon.

Pat I hope the cooling rain stays as promised.

Hosta I hope you're still sleeping well and enjoying the warmth.

Now I'm getting muddled with screennames beginning with F and L... So I'm not going to risk typing the wrong one!

    - Enjoy Moscow and seeing your new grandchild (when do you set off?)

    - Hope the bungalow search finds you the place (and garden) of your dreams

    - How is op recovery going?

I'm writing my list for the week now. Oh and I've ordered myself some silver leather Converse in the sales... feeling very self-indulgent. I do hope my wide feet will cope!

Morning all. 35C and partly cloudy forecast for today. The pool area yesterday was delightfully deserted. bliss.

Another day of doing very little other than formulating big plans for the garden at home.

Hubby has been asking about the vulture feeding sessions which took place along the beach when we were here last time.

Wrap up warm and get well soon.

    Devon.

BL - I felt a bit like I was 'going down with something' on the 28th December, was struck down (literally - couldn't move from sofa and slept most of the days) on 29th & 30th. Felt a bit better in the latter part of 31st and managed to stay up and even quite enjoy a very quiet new year. Went for a short ramble and visited a relative on 1 January, but shouldn't have - felt awful on 2nd. Went shopping - briefly - with daughter on 3rd and into work for a meeting on 4th - didn't feel up to either but pushed through and shouldn't have because I collapsed again in the evening of the 4th and felt really really awful on 5th and 6th. Tiny bit better on 7th, bit better again on 8th and much better today. So a long haul, and one that I probably could have shortened by not trying to do anything too soon, but there you go. Didn't you go down with it at a similar time to me? I know exactly how you feel, being fed upwhen it's gone on so long and is still stopping you doing things, but there's no choice really but to give in to it. The 17th is a long way off, I'm sure you'll be able enjoy the latter part of your time (and go to M&S!).

Watch out Hosta! Is he trying to get rid of you? You've lost so much weight you'll be little more than a canapé for a hungry vulture image ((Hugs))
