Obelixx, my Roomba is trundling around at the moment.   Apart from your painful toe, it was rather a pleasant way to spend this morning.

Hi Joyce.  We went for a Neato in the end - better reviews for dog and cat hairs and slightly lower for sliding under furniture.   We'll see.

Now I have my foot up again while I consider paint colours for the new kitchen.  It's north facing so my initial thoughts of pale blue will make it cold.    Better get to know Pinterest I suppose.

    Hi allimage,

I quite like the idea of a robot Obelixx and Joyceimage.  Obelixx I was thinking of paint colours for your kitchen and thought orange and blue stripes would look very cheerfulimage.  No please don't throw anything at meimage.  Hope the toe feels less painful soon.

Fairy glad you're feeling a bit brighter.  Hope the walking weather is better this weekend but the Countryfile forecast didn't sound very encouragingimage.  Is your finger better now?

Hooe your cat's OK Liri.  Pets can be a worry (and an expense).  We had Jekka at the vet's this morning and she's got cystitis.  The visit and the medication cost £75.  I once had it and went to the chemist where it cost me about a fiverimage.

Chicky, thanks for reminding me to start collecting the toilet roll tubesimage.

The cat is currently snoring on my lap - thanks for asking, Lesley & Obelixx.  I think she's got rid of whatever was bothering her and is feeling a bit better, though clearly milking the situation for all it's worth.  I ought to be upstairs sewing, but instead I'm under the cat.  image

I take back my frustrated comments about one of the builders (actually the one I hope will do the work, who specialises in lime pointing and old buildings).  He's just emailed me from the Sahara, where I assume he's on holiday, rather than pointing the Pyramids - though his website does have a photo of a recently restored Khmer temple in Thailand which he was involved with, apparently, so who knows!

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Good Liri.  Can't sew with a cat, obviously.  The kittens - well Cosmos probably - have once again been climbing on the shelves in my sewing room (now showing no sign of orange and blue stripes) and have tipped one of my boxes of patterns on the floor and upended the bin which has some tempting twine in it.   Your builder sounds very interesting.

Lesley - you bad girl - I'm thinking of soft shades of terracotta to warm up the cold corner as we have terracotta tiles on the floor.

Been collecting loo rolls since before Xmas and also took Busy's advice to buy plastic drinks goblets just in case.   Haven't go a greenhouse yet tho or a cold frame so holding off on sewing broad beans and sweet peas for another week or two till I see what the weather does.   They'll soon catch up I reckon.

All the fence posts are now in and I've screwed in all the insulators. OH forgot to tell me that when I charged the battery for his drill I had to press a tiny little button, so it wasn't charged this morning. Did half of them with my ancient hand drill. Now I'm in the middle of threading on the white electric ribbon, but OH arrived back from England and we've been having a cuppa and a chat. He's off again on Thursday.

Finger is fine Lesley - thanks for asking. Once it started healing, it was quite quick. image

I can't be bothered picking wall colour  paint, but I'll need to do it soon. I used to have a raspberry pink bathroom with clasing orange accessories. I loved it! It got painted cream for selling it though image

My new drill/driver is useless BL. Fully charged, I'm lucky if I get more than an hour of basic work done with it before it dies. Highly frustrating, and probably the worst tool purchase I've ever made. image

I gave up with loo rolls for sweet peas. I just sow three to a small pot now and plant them out that way, whether it's in a pot with canes, or in a border etc.

Builder sounds interesting Liri! That would be a helluva job - pointing The Pyramids...image

Maybe he was pointing 'at' them....image

I'm giving up loo rolls for sweet peas too. My favourite brand has had its rolls changed for flushable ones and last year they all dissolved!
