It is strange isn't it Chicky? We must all be very like minded people.

I was concerned when I posted, that I might be upsetting people, but it seems there is quite a lot of agreement.

Much warmer today, so have been pottering.

I loved the programme. I always do, but the Brighton couple were so lovely I knew it was going to be a good one. I too was a little irritated by the other lady, though I could also sympathise with her needing to recognise her new reality for what it was, and to make it her own. Not an easy process. I always worry about how the person they've left behind feels though, watching their former partner on TV. Obviously we can't ever know the situation she removed herself from, but I've known too many people whose relationships have ended, instigated by the other partner, and even when it's definitely the right thing for the partner leaving that doesn't always mean the person left did anything wrong other than not being right for their spouse. It's so painful. I'm waffling, but I'm sure you know what I'm getting at.

Felt dreadful again last night - cough was violent and unproductive and seemed to be building a lot of pressure in my head. But I do seem to have slept and although I started coughing non-stop v early this morning, it was a better,  less painful cough and I am feeling a litle more human and a little more rested today. Hope everyone else in the Lurgy Crew is on the mend and has a chance to rest in the warm today.

Took some decorations down yesterday.  Today's task is to finish that job and put them away, with lots of drinks and rests along the way.

LilyP I thought of you when I saw that Moscow weather forecast! Brrr.

    Glad Hosta's arrived ok.

How's Minstrel behaving now, Obelixx? Hope you had a better night.

Putting two and two together (and probably making 150 image) my impression was that she'd lived with a very dominant partner for a long time and eventually, for some reason, had made a break ......... however she was still hugely lacking in confidence and very unsure of expressing her own tastes and style ... what happened in the programme was that she began to develop a bit of confidence and to learn that nothing has to be irrevocable ... pots seemed a very good way forward for her.  She was irritating ............... but nevertheless I still liked her ... she was like a chrysalis with the butterfly just beginning to emerge image

Awake at 5am with purry cuddle monster so ended up finishing my book and then sleeping late.   Minstrel seems to be calming down at last but the hormones have made her less worried about doglets.   Thanks to a recommendation form Lantana on the Pets thread we have ordered pheromone calming collars for Bonzo and are looking forward to calmer evenings and nights.

It's a glorious sunny day now after a very frosty start but no gardening other than measuring the intended potager area for planning purposes and creeping up quietly on OH with plans for new kitchen.........

    Haven't see MD's prog yet.

All decs came down yesterday and this morning OH has sorted and boxed them.   My hero.

Hosta - hotel swaps?   I hope all is wall and you are enjoying warmth and sun.

Moscow looks far too cold for me LP but a warm family welcome and new baby cuddling will more than compensate for that.

Liri - I had something like that on Facebook earlier this week - scam to get me to pay to have my computer "fixed" while they pirated all financial info.  OH did some research on his PC and we ended up just closing it all down and re-booting and all is well but I do have a malware prog running every day.  Hope you get yours fixed.

As far as I' concerned, Stockport is still Cheshire and has a different vibe from GM even if it is all joined up.   Went to Manchester a couple of years ago with my scientists after an absence of over 40 years since student and childhood days.  It's great fun.

Hope all with lurgies are coping and improving and, most of all , resting with suitable distractions.

Well said re irritating lady, Dove.  I feel justifiably chastised for not paying enough attention early on when she was describing what was happening in her life.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

You may well be right Dove.

That was my likely interpretation too. The point is, we can't possibly know, and life is complicated. I'm glad she made some decisions and found that she could own them, and that she got a lovely space (and a gorgeous bit of wall too image).

I have packed away a single decoration (one that had to be dismantled, admittedly) and now I'm going to sit down with a cuppa and a biscuit. A job that normally takes me an hour or two is going to end up taking two days!
