Busy but fun filled day yesterday. Usual "don't want to undercook the turkey & poison everyone v don't want to serve up dried shoe leather" dilemna. But all was ok in the end.
Poor nights sleep - very hot - still 13C outside at 1am. Eventually had to dig out the 4 tog summer duvet.
Little trip out for a short walk today - should be sunny.
Very sad news about George Michael - not a huge fan but some of his music was the soundtrack to events in my life.
Cracking party / concert going on upstairs....
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Morning everyone. Hope a lovely day was had by all. We are doing it all again with stepson womble coming over today.
Shocked at the news of George Michael. His music was my school days era and will always think back fondly when I hear his tunes. Wonderful free spirit too! His presence in this world will be missed.
Thanks Dove OH has to go and fix a PC first so that will give me a chance to restore order to the kitchen. not really feeling like cooking or eating another roast! have a lovely day all!
Woken up very sad - still can't take in last night's news. Many of my "I was there" moments involved George.....Wham Final Concert at Wembley in '86, Royal Albert Hall when Elton John surprisingly burst onto stage (well actuallyappeared thru the floor) to belt out that the sun wouldn't be going down any time soon. And CarelessWhisper ......
Morning all - wonder if Pat will be around? Afties if you are Pat
Hope everyone had a good day yesterday - probably slightly better than mine. Christmas dinner will be tonight, as I had to remove the roast from the oven to take daughter to A&E at 5 oclock. Kids eh? Don't you just love 'em?
All is ok though - she had an abscess in her front tooth which started troubling her on Saturday. Her father gave her cocodamol yesterday lunchtime, brought her home and she took more, which she then had a reaction to. Ho hum. Thank Heaven for our wonderful NHS. She has an appointment later at the Dental Hospital. I should be back in time to cook dinner....daughter will be having pureed sprouts through a straw....
Bl***y cold here. Frozen layer of snow when I woke, and really windy again through the night. Just about hanging on to plus numbers when I fed the birds, but a bitter wind. Horizontal frozen stuff coming in big showers and battering the windows
Really sad about George. To be a respected artist, after being part of a 80s boy band, took some talent. He had a great voice. Songs From the Last Century is a superb album. Do you think we can make it to the end of the week without any more going? I'm still mourning Greg Lake

So sad. I remember his interview on Desert Island Discs, very revealing and very sad.
