Ex hubby has just been to collect daughter and said there's a tree down round the corner so he had to come round a different way. It's a minor road as there's farmland, and treelined. Perhaps it's windier than I thought!
Nice and cosy indoors though
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Getting a wee bit windy out there just now. Have taken the wreath off the front door - don't need to be chasing bits of it round the garden tomorrow Hope you can do something with your poor hydrangea Joyce.
Fairy is right in comparing the differences between the customer mentioned in Hosta's earlier post and the people mentioned in Doc's post. Some people are good and kind & make the world a better place - others are total ar**s and make life difficult for everyone.
Am very disappointed, however, to read that it was a W'rose customer behaving like that.
One of the reasons I shop there is because, even at Christmas when it's hectic, nobody screams and shouts and everybody does that frightfully English thing of saying "Sorry" when they've just been rammed by someone's trolley. I've seen customers arguing before now over who should have the last item on the shelf -"No - you have it" "No - I insist - you have it..." And no badly behaved, screaming brats either.
Courtesy, kindness and decent behaviour make the world go round.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
THE storm has reached us in South Yorkshire. I have retreated to underneath a blanket and indeed on snoozing the afternoon away from the relative discomfort of the caravan.
Afternoon all, I've made use of the wind and put the sheets on the line....just hope they stay there!
Hope everyone has got all the last minute bits and pieces done and are able to batten down the hatches and keep the weather outside!
Handed my notice in at work yesterday as the job really wasn't as advertised and was more a landscaper and groundsman, think theu called it gardener so they could pay minimum wage hadn't been looking for another job but wasn't really happy about laying block paving and mixing cement under the title gardener....but got headhunted by my husbands boss after he met me at their Christmas party! Its not gardening but its interesting and the people are fantastic. So now I have a 17 day break and an exciting new start for the new year
Sausage rolls made and tested extensively food shopping done, last presents wrapped and almost ready for it all to happen
Hi Fairy, hope your not getting too blown about! Trees down sounds gusty! It is a shame about the job but although I was keeping up with the lads cuz I'm stubborn, the work was extremely physically demanding and not as described! The new job is in sales and marketing, the nice thing is they wanted me and think I'll be an asset...hope so!
Have a lovely snugley warm and well fed Christmas!
Must say I'm extremely pleased that Wonky won't be out in the worst weathers and lugging loads that a strong man would find heavy. Wonky has never backed down from a challenge but i really think they were taking the p*** with their job description and what they actually expected her to do.
Onwards and upwards Wonky

Part of my climbing hydrangea is off the wall.
The wind died down for two hours and there was some watery sunshine.
