Pat - he looks very grumpy at having his photo taken!
Very windy over the weekend on the hills, so I changed my intended plan of two Mamores as I didn't fancy crawling along the ridge on my hands and knees
I went back to Glen Douglas instead to do a little hill there which I visited last March - Beinn Breac.
I was being watched as I headed up....
Nice view back towards the Luss hills
The wind was quite fierce at the summit, so I had to lean in against the trig to get photos. Ben Lomond, across the other side of the loch....
....was less 'white' than last time
North east along Loch Lomond
The hazy Arrochar hills, with Ben Reoch in the foreground
I droppped down to the little lochan in the pic above - the wind was gusting across it, even though it was more sheltered here
Even the sheep were keeping down out of the wind to have their tea
Circled round across the slope and back to join the outward route. Just the meadow pipits chirking away to keep me company. A nice way to spend a few hours. I stopped on the way back to get a pic of Ben Lomond.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
It's really the only way to do that hill Pat. Normally the wind would have been coming the other way - but once you're on top it's brisk whichever way it's coming! The best views are from the other Ben Reoch though, but hill baggers often miss it out and only do the third hill (Tullich) in conjunction with that one. A shame - they're missing a good little hill. It doesn't count as a separate hill, because there isn't quite enough descent and reascent between them.
I didn't head over to the other hill like I did last time as it would have made me a bit late home, and I was getting dinner made for me

Thanks again Fairy - I love tagging along on your walks... I especially liked the comparison between the two photos taken from the trig point. And the sheep, of course.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
The best sheep pic was the one I couldn't actually get as there was no way I could have pulled over. There was a pair of lambs lying flat out in one of the fields across from the south end of the loch when I was driving back. They were obviously exhausted from the effort of just being little lambs!
The view south from the trig is nice too, but I had quite a job keeping the camera still in the wind.
Hopefully get a bigger outing this weekend if the forecast is accurate - looking very settled. Hurray!

Lovely Fairy. You must have had a really good walk. You're lucky to be able to pick a more sheltered route when it's blowing.

The old loch was pretty choppy Joyce
